When Brandon (me612) helped me w/my clutch, I was removing everything on the bottom while he removed everthing topside. I have 1 wire I'm not sure where it goes and I believe that the hose is just a vent. take a looky.

1= starter
2= intake maf to turbo

Alpine TSi 07-17-2004 11:21 PM

One is just a ground that needs to be bolted to the block with a bolt that holds on the transmission.

Two is the charcoal canister vent and should be routed back into the intake pipe for emissions purposes(yeah right).

unreal808 07-17-2004 11:38 PM

what he said.

Enes 07-17-2004 11:44 PM

yup

IndiEP 07-17-2004 11:55 PM

Cool. So the starter has two wires, should the second one be grounded to a starter bolt too? I already have the little one (all black) grounded like that.

Enes 07-18-2004 12:20 AM

1 should go to the batery if i remember right..

unreal808 07-18-2004 12:23 AM

the starter should have two wires one small one clips on one big wire that is constant positve, being bolted to the car is ground.

niterydr 07-18-2004 01:08 AM

1) power wire from starter TO battery.
2) vent tube from charcoal canaster TO the intake pipe. There should be another 'hose' that goes from the valve cover to the pipe as well.
:goodluck:

Thanks guys, everything is now correctly in place.

Halon 07-18-2004 05:05 PM

hey sorry Austin. I just seen this today. Just like CVD said. The wire goes on the positive terminal, and the hose connects to your intake.

my bad, i meant you. I guess i just saw your avatar and thought him for some reason because you both have a car launching as your avatar.

And no 10 people didn't say the same thing. Some said its a ground that is to be hooked up to the block or a starter bolt. One said it goes to the battery but didn't really specify which terminal. And so I'm saying it goes to the positive terminal on the battery. But for some reason I'm questioning myself. Not exactly sure if it goes on the positive or negetive. Wish I had my car here to just look at.

Enes 07-19-2004 04:49 PM

it goes on positive! ...

no don't listen to me.. it don't go on positive.!!!

it actualy goes on negative batery terminal...

comon use your logic.. if it goes on the ground of the starter, wtf would it go on positive of the batery?
