Anyone see it?

Jana 06-27-2004 01:04 PM

not yet, i want to though

DSM97RS 06-27-2004 01:05 PM

i saw it last night. i came into it expecting it to be extremely biased considering it is a movie to make bush look bad and they do a good job at doing it. I was watching cnn last night before i went to sleep and heard someone say something to the effect of " michael moore is excellent at what he does, but what he does is propaganda." there is alot in the movie to take in at once, but it does a good job explaining why the war with iraq is unjustified. if you go to the movie liking bush, youll probably be offended, but if your against bush anyways, youll probably like it. i think some of the things he says in the movie, he streches the truth on, but thats like anything moore does similar to bowling for columbine where he says, 8 days after the tragedy, the nra held and charleton heston refused to stop its largest meeting of the year (while showing a clip of heston holding a rifle saying, if you want to take this away, you can take it from my cold dead hands). he didnt tell everyone that that clip was taken over a year after columbine.

I agree. I also saw it last night. I want to hear what the strong republicans on here have to say about it.

A//// Guy 06-27-2004 01:22 PM

Dont want to see it and I prolly wont because it will just stir the anger pot.

CVD 06-27-2004 01:27 PM

I dunno what the strong republicans would say, but I think I speak for the mild republicans when I say "fuck that, sounds like a worthless waste of my time and money."

JET 06-27-2004 02:01 PM

Yeah, my g/f saw it and was pretty pissed off afterwards. There is a pro-Bush movie coming out next month.

Kougar 06-27-2004 02:14 PM

Boy...i LOVE when politics weasels it's way in to our damn movies. Gimme a break :razz2:

I'm going to see it in an hour. I'm kinda on the fence politically, but I do think bush is an idiot.

1Fst14B 06-27-2004 03:35 PM

Kougar 06-27-2004 06:49 PM

Well just saw it.

I liked it, but it plays with your emotions alot. Alot of sadness, alot of anger, alot of surprise, etc.

A//// Guy 06-27-2004 10:22 PM

Alot of BS too ;) One sided shit makes me mad.

Goat Blower 06-27-2004 11:41 PM

Yeah, go see it if you want a liberal view trying to be passed off as a documentary. Just do a quick search on google if you want to see examples of his manipulation of the facts to his views in his previous wastes of film.

I wouldn't give that cocksucker a penny of my money. :censored:

Blade 06-28-2004 12:01 AM

Honestly, I dont want to see it. I dont want to be involved in politics and I dont want to be swayed on something I dont understand yet, or something I dont want to understand.

IndiEP 06-28-2004 01:19 AM

I don't plan on seeing it unless I rent it. Michel Moore has produced some interesting material but the thing to remember is, it's Not a documentary and NOT journalism either. just a creatively edited mocu-mentary about HIS opinions. I'm mostly afraid that uneducated people will see this movie and believe everything.

There is also a local guy producing a documentary called, "Michel Moore hates america."

Shane@DBPerformance 06-28-2004 02:22 AM

Come on. It doesn't take a genius or Michael Moore shoving his views down your throat to see that Bush is obviously a moron/puppet and this adminstration is is filled with corruption and greed.

And yeah, you can tell there's a ton of made up connections he does in the movie, but there is quite a bit of undisputable fact in there too.

Plus, the government has a tendency to do that kinda shit...ya know, the whole "corruption and greed" thing.

JET 06-28-2004 06:36 PM

I am still happy that he was in office and not Gore!

ACRucrazy 07-02-2004 10:47 AM

I agree with Jet there..
Right after 9/11 i was thinking Gore is probably very relieved he didnt win...
Shit I wouldnt wanna deal with that.

npaulseth 07-02-2004 12:46 PM

I am a strong democrat, and have seen some of the Moore stuff. I must say that his view is neither democratic or republican, he rips on them both. Obviously he is more democrat than republican, but some of his views are so far out there that they can't be classified as democratic. I will see the movie, but I will go knowing that is going to be very biased. I'm sure it will be informative though, just do you research on the topics he debated after the movie is over to get the full view on what rely happened.

I'm in the middle, well, probably a little more liberal than right-wing, but I'm generally neutral.

I hate Michael Moore with a passion.
