Bad body shop
4 Attachment(s)
Here's some pics for now. This is a car that I was asked to redo the work on. After we sent it to a body shop to put a quarter panel on. This guy tells us he is the best. Well this is his work. You be the judge.

Re: Bad body shop
I always go to my buddy Ten, up in champlin. Killer pricing and quality before anything in his book. Sorry for the seemingly weak, and poorly done bondo (though I'm not expert).

So in these photos shows were the new quarter panel meets the rocker. It's shows how my bond and filler the body shop used to make this think look right. The hole you see in the pics is where the put some hvac tape so the bond wouldn't fall in. I found in some spots the bond / duraglass was over 1 inch and a half thick.

These pics show where the quarter panel meet the inner fender / inner structure. It was a total surprise when I saw this. I took the plastic liner out and poked my head into the wheel well and saw this. I couldn't believe my eyes. What kind of body shop or person would think this is ok? I was really surprised on how bad this car was. Cause if you looked it before I took the hammer to it. The paint was nice and the door gaps were nice. It didn't look like it had a 55 gallon barrel of bonds spread on it.

Re: Bad body shop
The car was in a accident and we sent the car to a body shop in North branch to have the quarter panel replaced. They replaced the quarter panel and gave us the car back. When we got the car back the tail light wasn't working. So we took the tail light out and didn't like what we were seeing. So we started taking the car apart to investigate the work they did. When I took the inner fender off and saw the quarter panel that wasnt attached to the inner structure. my boss told me to rip the quarter panel off and fix it the right way.

Re: Bad body shop
Geeze, why didn't you guys just do it in house in the first place? Not enough manpower?

Re: Bad body shop
We don't do every car. We send stuff to the body shops to help them stay busy. We send them the easy stuff. But this body shop in North branch is a joke. They painted a car for us and when we got back it was 4 different colors.

Re: Bad body shop
Wow, that's impressive. Doesn't matter what it would look like on the outside when it's falling apart in 6 months lol. That's too bad. Unfortunately you will come across a lot of shops who think that is acceptable.
