All we have now is the 2016 Ford RS

So is the 2016 Ford RS going to fill the evo's exit of the market?

What's the deal with the car specs in comparison to the evo? What is fords aftermarket tuning support strategy? since the 2.3 eco boost enging is shared with the 2015 mustang, there are companies like map working on upgrade paths already. It will be interesting to see this all play out.

Time to move to more cylinders. :D

I think it looks like a sweet contender in that market, with the proposed 330hp it should be able to keep up with the subaru's. It also sounds like Ford has put some thought and technology into that car as well.

True, i wouldn't mind a gtr... just not in the market $$$ for one at this point.

It looks like it has good creature comfort technology and an interesting driveline.

If it was possible to work it up to 500whp I would drive it year round and sell my evo se. Once the se gets more miles and wear & tear, it just broke 60k on it now.

I'm digging the Focus RS; more than the Speed3 and STI for sure. Cobb and Diablo already have tuning to support the entire EcoBoost lineup so there's no reason both won't jump on the RS as well. I see that MAP has already crossed 500whp on the EcoBoost Mustang with the stock block.

One of my buddies down here is actually planning to trade his '08 X in on a RS once they come out.

I'm holding out for Mitsu to make a replacement for the 3000GT. (so, in other words, I'll be driving 90s cars for the rest of my life) LOL

It will be interesting to see how the new RS does once it is out there for awhile and people start really tuning it.

I'm almost in the same boat, i finally stopped driving talons as the dd 4 years ago, so evos will last me another 5-10 years if history plays out again.

There is a preimum to be a pioneer with new platforms.

Mitsubishi has a long way ahead of them to gain a considerable market share in the U.S. IMO they have struggled with most of the models they offer for a long time, most of which were never that great with looks and with reliability. It wasn't until recently that some of the models they are offering actually look decent.

I'm just going to disregard this entire post.

Ford is the biggest mover & shaker when it comes to turbocharged performance engines in 2015.

Not only that but the entire line up they offer is selling like crazy. They have been changing the game since the gm bail out. To be quite honest IMO they are one of the best brands on the market today.

Ford didn't take a bail-out actually.

Yeah i wasn't really clear, I was referencing the time period of when GM did and such. They made the changes necessary to improve and keep going.

Not technically, but they did take plenty of tax payer money in loans for retooling their factories.

Re: All we have now is the 2016 Ford RS

Well at least they did a good job with those loans so, By all means retool!

I saw a RHD 3000GT on the road in Canada last weekend. The was in rough shape though.

Re: All we have now is the 2016 Ford RS

I'd DD the RS for sure, I like Ford a lot and considering trading in the evo for it. I think the RS, for me anyway, would replace a turbo 4 AWD daily for sure. Just can't get myself to want a boxer engine but still like subbies plenty.

But for 500whp, now a days, I like bigger displacement for new cars like a 5.0 from ford (or the gt350r mmmmmm) or c7 etc. Maybe even new camaro, looks promising. I have come to realize more cylinders typically makes things easier when trying to make power haha.
