how to tow?
So I finally picked up a tow rig and now it's time to bring the dsm to my house. I'll be renting a u haul flat bed hopefully this weekend. I need to know where do I strap the car down to the flat bed. I'm assuming lower control arms? Any other advice? This will be my first time towing a car.

Re: how to tow?
The front is usually the lowers. The rear I usually loop it around the lower control arms as well. If you have four straps just use on per corner. As long as you get them tight you should be set. Also remember to stop after a few miles to recheck the straps incase it all settles.

Re: how to tow?
Do I leave it in gear and pull the ebrakes up? Or does it matter?

What kind of straps should I use? How many times should I loop around each lower control arm?

Re: how to tow?
In gear and ebrake on. Cars don't move that easy. Fleet Farm has some killer straps for a good price. The 27' can get long, they have a 16' version too. 27' can be nice for strapping non-car stuffs down though.

Re: how to tow?
It's not complicated, just strap it down tight, don't overthink it.

Re: how to tow?
I usually just loop it enough to take up the slack needed. Then the rest get's tied to something. I have also been successful using one strap for both the front and rear.
