need advise asap!

Long story short I was having issues with my motor.

I have a few bent valves.

Now I have a 1g head with fresh valves. Guides ect. Can I swap all that into my 2g head ? I would run the 1g head. But dont have a intake for it.

Stem heights the same ? Everything the same ?

The spare 2g head I have I bought from lkq I dont really trust the light rust in it.

Please help me out guys.

Call or text me also. Im in a crunch here. Dont want to have wasted taking time off for pg and everything I bought for the weekend.

I'll buy beer and pizza if anyone is willing to lend a hand :)

Get a 1g intake. With bent valves you can have cracked or messed up the valve guides on the 2g head.

its a spare 2g head that I pulled from the yard to hang onto for times like this, but looking into the exhaust housing and intake housing on them I see some rust on the valve stems,

plus on cylinder ports 1 and 2 on the exhaust sides I see old oil residue.

I would really like to just take the 1g parts and put them over. I think the 1g head I have is warped because I had a hell of a time pulling it off my old 2.3 block when I blew a head gasket.

im trying to part together parts from 2 bad things and make one half way decent bad thing . :seeya:

which sounds stupid I know, but I have to get the car there or lose a huge bet made to my 5.0 mustang buddy who was talking shit all year long predicting because its a dsm I wont make it to proving grounds

Swapping valves and especially guides is not a simple process. Like tkr mentioned, it'd be far easier to use your 1g head, I've even got an extra intake. Throw a straight edge on it and see if it's actually warped.

I think ill just have to run this head. ill post up some pictures of it. tell me what you guys think.

How many bent valves do you have on the head? If you only need a few and the guides aren"t cracked I have some 2G valves you could have. I swaped out 2 bent valves in my head last year with no issues.

He just left, his spare 2g head was pretty decent.

wow all for pg1? why? what about the high and crazy idle? sounds to me like you should spend more time making sure the car is in good health and will last past the weekend and maybe shoot for pg2 or a partout. imho. i don't mean to be a dick here but serious? hell i'm not even going to be ready for pg1. btw if i had what you needed id fork it over i'm just saying from experience if it's not ready oh well, you'll live to see another day

What was the bet for if you dont mind me asking? If its not that big of a bet then I'd say just take the time amd fix it right even if it means skipping pg1..

He is fixing it right, his 2G head was in good shape with a little clean up.

She lives !!!!!!

Got some good news from the dsm legend. And she is up and running.

Now the only issue I have is that weird high idle and im thinking a bad c.a.s. she turns off after 55 seconds of running it seems like. Then dosent want to come back on.

If anyone has a blacktop c.a.s. I would love to pick it up off your hands.

The problems just keep coming out of the wood work!!!!!

Black top is more rare that green if you can live with that

I haven't heard of a CAS working intermittently, either it works or it doesn't. If it doesn't work, your MPI relay doesn't send a signal to the fuel pump, so it wouldn't start at all.

Did you say you have Link V2? Log it when it dies so we can see what else might be happening.

I ended up figuring it out. My plug that connectes to the coils was coming loose.

I picked up a throttle body that cleared up alot of my issues wirh idle and such.

Thanks again for all your help! Wouldnt be at pg if it wasent from the help I got from everyone here !
