timing way to high at idle?
I think my timing is way to high, what do you guys think?
all timing marks line up. ignition timing does as well. I also cant lower my idle. I get it under 1K it drops to 750 then dies shortly after. I changed my isc motor and that only made things worse and brought it to 30 at idle for timing. no boost leaks. what do you guys think? I only have 4 days to get this thing running right before pg. I don't know why I can never figure out how to post logs on here. link to log - http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/why...o-high.480921/ |
Re: timing way to high at idle?

Re: timing way to high at idle?
I just logged over and saw it. Im at work so can't even pull up my logs to see what my timing is at.
You have pretty close to the same set up as jery1234 that helped me only he has 2000 injectors and a 6266. Mayne hell chime in. Looks like you both have a 2.3 with hks 272's. |
Re: timing way to high at idle?
at 1,200 rpms timing is sitting around 19-20 degrees.
at a 950 idle shouldn't it be around 5-10 degrees? I tried to search out other peoples logs, but for some stupid reason when I click a log. my windows media player opens and not the log. |
Re: timing way to high at idle?
I switched over to speed density as well

Re: timing way to high at idle?
Nice on the sd setup

Re: timing way to high at idle?
Do you still have all the idle control mechanisms? Does it just idle poorly on a cold start up or while the engine has warmed up as well?
|
Re: timing way to high at idle?
the log I posted is exactly what it does. I don't know how to explain it, I swapped out the isc with a spare one I had and it changed everything, so im guessing my old one was bad?

Re: timing way to high at idle?
I posted the second log on tuners. everytime I try to load a log onto here it tells me "invalid something".
but just swapping the isc motor alone. nothing else, brought my idle to 2500k and changed everything else |
Re: timing way to high at idle?
Did you instal the ICS motor correctly? Typically 2500rpm is the outside of the threshold for the motor to control. There is a correct and incorrect position to install it if memory serves correct.
What is the BISS screw set at? What is your base timing set at? |

the plug on top. or did I install it upside down ? |
Re: timing way to high at idle?
It wouldn't matter, it's just a plunger. You've got a huge air leak somewhere or a tight throttle cable to have an idle that high.
