I'm just trying to be helpful here since I can't find your other thread, but if you are turning this into a road race car, you might be better off picking up a high mileage evo 8 and be way ahead from the get go.

Re: wtb 95-99 white gsx 5spd no rust prefered

Ya the road race thing has to get put on the back burner.

In the period of 3 days both my bmw x5 went out ($2000 to fix) and then 2 days later my wifes bmw 740 went out ($4000 to fix which im not going to do just going to sell it as is). So wife is getting the x5 once its fixed and I'm going to buy a dd for myself. And although I've been looking at evo strickly because they are 4 doors in just can't get passed the looks. So since I can't convince the wife an mkiv tt supra at the cost of 26k is needed for a daily driver. Figured why not get back in the 2g dsm game I've always loved the looks.
And seen a few with basically the same set up I used to have for around 10, 000 just not the right color.

I think he's joking, last I saw, it's more or less a shell, a really nice low mileage one though. I've been waiting for it to come on the market for years. :D

Good luck. I looked for 6+ months for a magenta grey pearl, cayenne red, or white GSX. I posted a ton of ads on craigslist and got many phone calls/texts from people trying to sell me their GSTs and non turbo eclipses. I wasn't about to do another awd conversion so I ended up converting an awd talon. It's a sad reality but these cars (in good condition) are becoming very hard to find.

Re: wtb 95-99 white gsx 5spd no rust prefered

Lol big, that's exactly what I did my first time around was swap from a gst to a gsx. And I already missed a white 99 with 125, 000 out of florida guy wanted 3700 or a bike. So while I took 2 days to get back to him about trading for my r6. It was sold by the time I got back to him

Re: wtb 95-99 white gsx 5spd no rust prefered

Evo...so much better platform to start with.

VIII's are dirt cheap because everyone wants the IX or X. Fine one from a southern state and you won't have any concerns about rust.

Re: wtb 95-99 white gsx 5spd no rust prefered

But evo's are so much more money. Can't believe how the 8's are holding their value like crazy for a clean one.

Willing to travel?

I used a national craigslist when I was looking for my last gsx. If you search using only the title with "gsx" you'll pretty much get what you're looking for. Then I also used all the dsm sites, like dsmtuners, link forum, dsmtalk, here, wisconson dsm forums and any other dsm boards. Hard to find a clean one that isn't hacked.

Yeah, swapping my first spyder to awd was fun at first but ended up being a huge pain in the end. Oh man, that's a tragedy. The white 99 GSX is the King of DSMs. I found a few around the country but most were sold by the time I could get to them (waiting for the weekend), the others were rusty piles of $hit. I've owned 3 Evos now but I always find my way back to an Eclipse.

Yeah, there's very few clean ones anymore, 2G or 1G.
