Hey guys,

Some of my MN 3/S guys went up to Brainerd to check out there Wednesday night street drags. It was a good time. Myself and a few others were running our cars. You guys should seriously consider going up to BIR for your drag racing fix. From Rogers, BIR is only about 105 miles. For me, thats closer than Rock Falls.

They run the Wednesday night drags several times during the season. (9 total, I think) Gates open at 5pm and they run until dusk. Last night that was about 8:30pm. Its only $20 to race and $5 to spectate. There was only 56 cars racing last night. You could just make a run and get back in line and only have one or two cars ahead of you. It was perfect! I think they typically get 50 to 80 cars running at these events. Only bad thing is they don't use any VHT, but I was still able to cut several 1.8 60 foot times. Another club member had some 1.7s, so traction isn't too bad.

They have all volunteers running the track, because they love racing that much and they'd rather see ya running on the track instead of the street. Kudos to BIR!! :toast:

Wow, things have certainly changed since the last time I was there then. I went up for a muscle car shootout and ended up being grouped with everything but a musclecar, which included a Pontiac Bonneville SSE, stock 2G, a mildly modded GN and about 4 other piles of shit. I raced the GN the first round and beat him by 10-15 car lengths, got pissed off, packed my tent back up and went home.

Anyways, that sounds kick-ass, especially since we have a condo up there. I better get my car running. :goodluck:

I think the key thing is the fact that its a Wednesday night, so you don't have the HUGE crowds like you do on weekend events. There is no competition set up for the Wednesday drags. Its like a test-n-tune. Just run until your sick of it. Of course that doesn't mean that you can't line up with your buddy for a little grudge match. ;)

Mark Wendlandt with his black 91 Stealth R/T TT ran a 11.76 @ 119mph yesterday.

She said how long. As in hours. If the speed limit it 70 the hole way up it should be less then and hour and a half, but I don't think it is.

Yeah, I could care less about miles. I should have specifically said how many minutes did it take I guess....

It was about two hours. I took I-94 to Clearwater, then cut over to Highway 10. That takes you up to Little Falls and then its Highway 371 the rest of the way. Since there are stoplights along the way and I drive slow, (cruise at 73mph) it was two hours.

It takes us about 2.5 hours to get up there from Brooklyn Park. We take 10 up and hit 25 all the way to Breezy Point. 10 to 371 would be quicker to BIR.
