Looking at a G8... Your thoughts?
 

Looking, for now, at getting rid of the spyder and there is a '08 Pontiac G8 GT with the 6.0L. Anyone have any experience with them and like them? I test drove it and liked it, but I somewhat still have my heart set on a Evo....

LS3, add boost, epic. Pretty sweet car IMHO I wish they still made them, maybe with an AWD option :)

Nobody seems to make s/c kits for them though.

No experience with them, but from what I've heard they're a decent car. I was also told by a guy who used to work for GM that from the factory the 6.0 cars had some pretty "mean" power from the get go.

Aside from that, I've always kind of liked them. Would definitely like to drive one some day.

I absolutely love my G8, no regrets about buying it brand new. They are very mod friendly and an overall solid car IMO. 6.0L V8 with Australian engineering, how can you go wrong?

G8 GT uses a L76 engine, although it has some upgrades from most other L76's. The GXP is the one that had the LS3, which is a bad ass car. The regular G8 isn't a slouch either, but doesn't have quite the power or handling of the GXP. It is quite a bit cheaper though and good bang for the buck.

I drove a GXP on spray at DB, awesome car, scary ride.

has 116,000 on it. one owner and had all of the service records in the glove box. drove it and it was very nice. smooth and straight. even layed down a strip until tcs stepped in. didn't break loose at all

Best bang for the buck is a wet nitrous kit jetted for a 150 shot. Ls series motors are great.
