2004 Yamaha R6

This is my 2004 Yamaha R6 Limited Edition(ghay flames) build thread. A little slow to post it but I have a lot of things that I did to it already this winter since pick up. Fixing minor things and adding some aftermarket parts to it. It has 11,961 mi on it and will be getting tons more this spring/summer/fall. I take my BRC in the first week of April so snow can GTFO! Anyway, here are some pictures of it before I tore it all down.

This is the mid fairing that was damaged but I have a new one already.

Being a 2004, I still love the front end of these bikes.

You can see the scratched stator cover which is now already replaced as of this weekend when I went to go work on it.

This is the exhaust that was on it. It's loud but I wanted a shorty by the pegs so its now gone and the r6r exhaust is going on it.

And my scratched upper triple where I will be repainting it and adding an all black GPR V4 damper on it.

I will take more pictures of it when I go work on it some more tomorrow. Right now it's up on stands and all the plastics are off it. It now has woodcraft frame sliders, motodynamics LED rear tail(bright as the sun btw), new pegs, and has a zero gravity double bubble, targa solo seat cowl, and some other small stuff that nobody cares about.

I decided to put a "build" thread here but really, it's just making it look decent this year and just ride the crap out of it. I hope the cruise weather is decent by the 20th as I would love to join you guys! I'll add more pictures of it later this week in it's phase right now.

Looks good! I've always been a fan of the limited edition color scheme as gay as the flames are.

Take off those reflectors on the front fender while you're taking stuff off of it!

Re: 2004 Yamaha R6

^ Flames are easy to get rid of on the mid fairings, its the tank thats the issue. It's under the clear coat in case of gas spilling over. :(

Re: 2004 Yamaha R6

Here it is in it's current state waiting to be painted white. I had to redo all the connections the previous owner did and soldered them. Then painted the upper triple clamp and fixed a lose ignition. Now my issue is getting the damn key to work because it wouldn't go in the lock position. I also added a three olives vodka wrist band to protect my brake reservoir. Anyway, pics.

You should do satin pearl white

Re: 2004 Yamaha R6

Satin Pearl White for sure, but I bet it will cost quite a bit more, pearl is expensive.

Pearl sounds cooler but also sounds like more $

Can't wait for warmer weather!

Been busy with school and keeping this thing under the radar so. This is the only picture I have of the color so far, crappy but I will get some in the sun once it's all wrapped. All that is left to do is the tail and the tank.

You can see the tank on the ground is pearl white and mine is satin pearl white.
