Re: National Corvette Museum
Need MUCH details of what you thought about the GTR!
Oh, and the 'vette museum is cool too :P |
Re: National Corvette Museum
GTR is an absolute beast; completely different class from the Evo and really can't even be compared. The powerband and torque curve is killer. Launch control is especially wild :D
I was lucky enough to drive it most the way across Kentucky. Let's just say it hits 150mph VERY quickly and the gigantic 15.4" front brakes haul you down even quicker ;) During the 1,050 mile trip we could really only come up with three complaints: 1. The Premium Edition seats sucked. The Evo's Recaros are more comfortable and more supportive. The GTR Black Edition has addressed with with Recaro seats. 2. The navigation system and screen is smaller and much lagier in general compared to the Evo's navigation system. It is also lacking a music server HDD. 3. The Bose stereo system once again doesn't stack up vs. the Evo. The X's option 710-watt Rockford Fosgate system is very good, and like most Bose systems, the GTR's under-performs. All-in-all, for a sports car though those complaints are fairly minor! The engine, suspension, transmission, and chassis are all incredibly well engineered. The transmission is very loud and clunky, and the AWD system sounds like a 4x4 pickup with locked differentials during slow maneuvers (low speed, parking lots, etc.)...beastly :) |
Re: National Corvette Museum
They feel very solid to me and a bit weird for a Jap car, not a in bad way at all. So torquey and responsive. I have driven some with modded trans and they sounded and engaged like death.
