Project FR-S (Fun but Really Slow)
Figured I'd make a project thread for my new car. I picked up a white Scion FR-S at the end of October 2012 in Green Bay WI after I sold my '99 Eclipse.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...40443393_n.jpg So far I love it. Seats are awesome, one of the best handling cars I've owned, looks pretty decent stock, and it gets pretty good mileage for a fun to drive daily. It really lacks power but I have my motorcycle if I want to go fast. All I wanted a fun daily that had a warranty while getting decent mileage and this fit the bill perfect Current Mods: Debaged the dealer sticker and FR-S badge 15% Ceramic Tint done by Tint Pros Moble Rally Amor Mudflaps (Will install this weekend to help keep the body mint through the winter) Toyota Badges - I hate admitting that it's a Scion for some reason and I think the badge is cooler (I'm a ricer I know) Planned mods: Clear or painted front turn signals Tinted or painted red tail lights Shark fin style antenna so it doesn't look like an rc car Suspension - Haven't decided if I'll go the coilover route or just get some good springs Strut tower brace, rear strut brace, probably some sway bars as well (Need to do some research on what I want) Wheels with some sticky tires Intake/exhaust I wussed out and got an automatic. I feel like the car should be a manual but I had a few reasons to go with the auto. Reading the forums a lot of people complain about 2nd grinding and that just sounds like a dsm trans to me which I didn't want. The stock clutch felt so light I don't think I would like daily driving it. The auto has paddle shifters and in sport mode it shifts faster than I ever could, rev matches perfectly for me and I no longer hate rush hour like I did in my old dsm's. Only pic I have of it after the tint http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...04758669_n.jpg Let me know if you guys have any suggestions for cheap mods! |

Re: Project FR-S (Fun but Really Slow)
Nice pick up! I don't know much about these but they look pretty sweet. If it has paddle shifters that shift it like right meow, than that's the route I'd have gone too :)
