I think it's wrecked
So I put my winter tires and rims on last weekend and apparently they don't do well in the rain.
Because I slid straight into a curb. After further observation, there looked like oil all over the road but anyways... I bent the rim and broke a bolt that holds the subframe to the frame. Anyone ever done this before? It's pulling like a SOB and the wheel is an inch and a half back or so. Is the car screwed? :/ |
Re: I think it's wrecked
Yikes, glad to you hear your alright but IMO, your frame could be bent a little if the bolt broke. Maybe your car is dog walking or whatever its called. where the rear end is off to the side. like this slash \ moving towards the top or bottom of your screen.
Oil from where? Your oil pan could of scrapped and put a hole in it? |

Re: I think it's wrecked
You proably pushed the cradle/subframe over. you proably bent a couple arms or bent the subframe. If the subframe is bent or pushed over good chance you bent the frame of the car.

Re: I think it's wrecked
Except for the subframes, these cars don't have frames. Either way, it's fixable, just depends on how much time and money you want to put into it. I'm working on a project car right now that has a lot worse damage than that, it's all fixable.

Yeah I kinda regret putting the snow tires on but my 17's are low on tread. ANd it snowed today :P |
Re: I think it's wrecked
I drove year around on snow tires with my red 92, they were just fine. Hell, I even ran them at the drag strip! You likely bent an A-arm, that is pretty common.
