? About degreeing cams

Ok so my cylinder Head is going to the head head shop this week I'll be running all the same components plus some porting and polishing. so once I get that back the engine will be going back together. Getting to my question. The cams were degreed when the old engine was assembled. Now if the cam gears aren't touched once everything is put back together would the cams need to be degreed again? Any help is appreciated!

If the head got milled or you use a different thickness head gasket then they probably need to be checked.

Also can the cams be degreed with the engine in the car?

Well old head is junk. I have a new good core that will be used. So probably should at least be double checked

If it's a different head, then it needs to be re-degreed.
