New Toy
Well new to me at least.
Just bought this the other day, I have a Honda 4x4 but I wanted something else a little faster with a little better suspension for the fast trail riding. 2008 Can Am Renegade 800efi Motoworks Exhaust Dahlton Clutch Kit Power Commander Custom Graphics Wrap Pro Taper Bars 27x11x12 SS Wheels/Tires 2" Wheel Spacers Stock Wheels/Tires with SNOW CHAINS for Winter Anybody who knows wheelers knows these things are the real deal when it comes to quads. 62hp stock, this ones probably around 70+hp now. If anybody on here does any serious riding send me a PM. Here she is: http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...7dc259e3_b.jpg http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...e4ec20d4_b.jpg http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...dd8f7861_b.jpg http://www.dsmstyle.com/photopost/da...a3c6c059_b.jpg |
Re: New Toy
Very nice. That thing must be a hand full to ride. 4x4 quads are getting pretty now days with the power and speed.

Re: New Toy
Yeah its fast, it does 77mph (speedo not GPS) bone stock. I would say it is a 70mph bike bone stock or somewhere around there. They are set up so nice with KYB shocks/dampeners that they handle good. It just gets tiring holding on to the bars because it has so much torque for a ATV.

Re: New Toy
holy bad ass. A friend had a can-am with a turbo on it back in like 2006-7. Thing hauled serious ass. 0-60 had to be in the 2 second range.

Re: New Toy
Nice! Surprised they cant squeeze more hp out of those for being an 800? The snowmobile equivalents for that CC have almost twice as much power?
I think we may trade in or sell our sleds for a couple 4wheelers, just makes more sense. |
Re: New Toy
Sweet, looks like fun!

Re: New Toy
Yikes. When I lived in Bemidji I went trail riding on a quad and had fun doing it but I can't imagine going 70 per down a fire trail... o_0

I would have to guess they de-tune them from the factory, I mean seriously how could you even drive a 130hp ATV with that short of a wheel base? It would be crazy. Yeah I went with an ATV because we don't get enough consistent snow to justify a sled. I can ride this thing down here all year around (including winter). A buddy of mine even has a few sets of tracks for his Outlander, so if they going gets tough I'll just throw on the tracks and go anywhere a sled will go. |
Re: New Toy
Another thing that is funny about these things is that they use a viscous coupler (Visco-Lok) system for their 4 wheel drive, similar to what DSM's use in their t-cases. A little different because they don't use front to rear distribution, more side to side on the front wheels when one stops then they both lock in. Makes for great turning in tight spots but 100% positive traction when needed without having to LOCK in all 4 tires like some ATV's.
Peter if you are ever down by Red Wing, look me up, your welcome to take that thing for a ride. But you better be ready to spend some money cause you'll love it right away. Ha ha. |
