Chumpcar!
I have yet to see the fabled supra out there!
BIR was a blast. James, did you guys end up getting your car straightened out? I saw you guys had a smoking 1:54 lap. |
Re: Chumpcar!
What Supra?!
It's a slow process for this team. Best case would be one race this year, but I would realistically be happy with a couple track days in order to be ready for next year. |
Re: Chumpcar!
don't you guys have a supra?

lets gooooo! Road america in october. Do it.

Re: Chumpcar!
Heard you guys finished first, congrats. My buddies team had fuel issues, then a tranny failure so they weren't able to finish.
|
Re: Chumpcar!
we didn't finish first... we were in first for a short period of time. We had some other issues; fuel pump overheating and fuel pressure dropping, flat tire, brake pedal adjustment issues, and eventual engine failure in the last 30 minutes of the race. All said and done, we finished 9th saturday and 10th sunday, not too bad considering.
we now will be building the 7th engine that has been in this chassis since we got it. |
Re: Chumpcar!
Did those blasted BMW's take the flag again?
|
Re: Chumpcar!
Oh, they left early so maybe they just meant you were in first when they left.
|
Re: Chumpcar!
My buddy did (I think?) his first race up there. His team has the red miata.
I wanna see pics of the poopra!! |
Re: Chumpcar!
We pitted next to them. I talked a bunch to a guy named Felipe (I think) who used to be into turbo D series hondas.

Re: Chumpcar!
Yep! Felipe was the friend I was talking about!
He's a good shit. He's had a few cool Subaru's and S2000's as well as all of the honda's over the years. Now he's into the Miata thing |

Funny thing is, once we finally drove it, every time we got on the throttle a little, all sorts of mouse nests etc came flying out the exhaust. |

Re: Chumpcar!
Any mitsubishi guys wanna prove them wrong?
after reading this from the following blog: http://blog.caranddriver.com/lemons-...%E2%80%94ahoy/ Any Mitsubishi Product, but especially the Starion The least reliable marque in LeMons racing is, without a doubt, Mitsubishi. Even British Leyland and Renault products can be considered robust next to Mitsubishi cars on a LeMons track, and that includes the Chrysler-badged DSM stuff. You name it, Eclipse/Talon, Colt/Mirage, 3000GT/Stealth—it will fall apart in our races like a house of cards blasted with a leaf blower. (Note: In a winning-the-lottery-grade stroke of crazy luck, a Mirage took the win on laps in a LeMons race a few years back.) With all that, however, the Starion/Conquest manages to take Butt Turribleness to a level beyond even the wretched Cordia; in seven years of LeMons racing and 10 or so Starions, only one has managed to run more than a few dozen laps in a race. In fact, we’re going to make it a definitive statement: The Mitsubishi Starion is the worst possible choice, in the entire universe, for a 24 Hours of LeMons car. |
Re: Chumpcar!
ooooh, that'd be fun!

Re: Chumpcar!
That article is awesome, it shows how hard road racing is on cars.

Re: Chumpcar!
