new setup

Well it has been some time since I posted, and some things have been changed on the gsx.

In the last few weeks I swapped out the stock t25 for a evo3 16g and so far am very happy with the results. so far all that is done to it is...

evo3 16g
fmic
megan o2 housing
megan down pipe
srs cat back
fic 950cc injecters
wallbro 255

Tuned by Shane at DB on E85/ well E70

DB dyno 292HP and 303TQ
Shootout 344HP and 358TQ

she pulls like a train and if fun as hell to drive, except for the fact my clutch is now gone. surprised it lasted that long.

Clutch... hahaha still on the stock one and is starting to slip.

Then we will see. If the head gasket goes headstuds cams and a head gasket. Other then that nothing really.

Nice. So the whining you were talking about in first was the clutch. Lmk if you need help repalcing it. I think I've done enough clutches now.

Sounds good man. I haven't decided if i am going to take it in for the clutch or just do it myself.

You could always pay me. I think shops want $400-$500 for a clutch job not positive though. You could come over and help or just drop it off either way I could have it done in 4 hrs. All you need to buy is clutch disc and fluids.

Re: new setup

The shop wants 500 for install. Well I might take you up on that offer. I just need to pick up the clutch. I am going to go with a ACT2100 with a 6 puck sprung disk. Also I am going to replace the diff fluids as well. Ill give you a call when I get the clutch and set up a time.

Re: new setup

Sounds good you could also do the stage 4 comp 6 puck sprung clutch kit, save a little bit of more money. Make sure you grab an OEM throw out bearing too. Probably
save enough to even get cams! Just lmk whats up

Re: new setup

ACT 6 puck unsprung, if you plan on making more power down the road.

For people who really DRIVE their cars. I take it you've never broken a spring from the sprung center?

CornFed2.4 03-27-2012 11:25 PM

Re: new setup

Sprung clutch would be fine for the power he has now. By the time down the road comes he'll need a new one anyways.

Do a sprung less chatter and better drivability IMO

99gsxjoel 03-27-2012 11:59 PM

Re: new setup

It will be a sprung one for sure. I still want good drivabilty because the car is daily driven.

tonight was the last straw. Raced a brand new 5.0 mustang and on the 3rd run clutch just let go. I can still drive it just no more pulls.

Oh, and i won by a car each time... :) I am loving this thing
