Question for the computer guys
Computer one: Windows vista business 40gb hard drive
Computer two: Windows XP Professional 250gb hard drive Both computers have the sticker on them with the product key and whatnot. Computer one is all around better minus the OS and the hard drive. Can I just swap the hard drives and have computer one with xp and a 250gb hard drive? I actually already swapped the drives and computer one boots up with XP. But is that all I really have to do or is there more to it? |
Re: Question for the computer guys
You will have to install new drivers into the new computer. but other than that it should be fine.

You will maybe have to set your hard drive up in the bios as well.

Re: Question for the computer guys
Thanks for the info guys. I really dont know too much about the inner working of computers.
Can I just then swap the stickers and pretend that computer one came with XP then sell computer two and say it has vista? |
Re: Question for the computer guys
So you're looking to revert to a damn near 10 year old OS that's barely supported?

Re: Question for the computer guys
Well from what I hear Vista sucks a big one. And I have other 6 computers all running XP. never had any issues. And Im too poor for 7.

As far as the stickers go, don't they normally place them over the ends of two different part of the case? That way you can't tamper with them with out it being obvious? |
Re: Question for the computer guys
These stickers are just right on top of the case. I think they are a biotch to remove tho.
