Help with injectors?

So I'm looking to upgrade to some 2200cc injectors. I currently own 1600cc PTE they work fine and everything but have issues with starting. I have heard it is common problem with thoses style of injectors.

So I'm looking for some FIC injectors obviously expensive. So I'm shopping around and find some deals then I received a email offering me Bosch injectors and in this email he stated that they are the exact same.

So my question is are Bosch and FIC injectors the same?

Thanks Ross

The ID2000 and FIC are Bosch Ev14 injectors. You would want a truely matched set though. ID saw as much as 13% difference at 2msec from one of those big Bosch injectors to the next.

Re: Help with injectors?

I am in love with my ID1000 injectors; nearly double the size as factory but they idle and start just as well. They use the same cores as the FIC1100's, but for whatever reason people are having much better results with the ID's so it must be something in the way they modify and/or match the sets. I know this isn't the size you're looking for, but I figured I'd give you my feedback on the brands.

Ok and to get a truely matched set I have to do what?

Make sure they are actually flow matched with documentation.

Re: Help with injectors?

Most companies send you them when you by new. I cant remember what my FIC 1680s were but they were all very close in flow.

Do yo have low impedience injectors now? I think just switching to high-z might help with the issues you are having.

Re: Help with injectors?

Also I've seen some new FIC high-z 2150s pop up the last couple weeks on tuners for around $550-$600

Are you looking at a used set?

I know that you can send them in to the guys and link and get them tested/flowed.

Re: Help with injectors?

One problem though is that you might have 4 injectors that are within 1% at 100% duty cycle, but 10% off at idle/cruise duty cycles.

Ok so what do u recommend. should I buy a set of injectors and then send them off to get flow tested and see where they are? or just go with FIC injectors because they have all that done already? I guess I'm just looking more of a direct answer.

Injectors should be matched from the manufacturer, I know my DW's and ID's were, and included all the flow/spec sheets rated at multiple voltages and pressures. I think you're over-thinking this purchase. Figure out what size injectors you really need, and buy the best ones you can afford. If 1600's are enough to support your setup going 50% larger to 2200's seems like a poor idea. How about a set of FIC 1450 BlueMax injectors, would they be large enough for you? They seem to start/idle really well (and I know of a barely used set for sale).

Re: Help with injectors?

Just buy new ones and save yourself the headache. Otherwise ravenworks in maple grove does injectors

If it were me I'd get the FIC 2150s. I know a few members on here have no issues with them.

Re: Help with injectors?

Why limit yourself with smaller injectors? Just go for the big ones and never worry about capacity/head room again. I remember not too long ago Shane said on here of facebook or something that turbo guys always tune to the max of their fuel system, but you get these N/A honda owners with fuel setups that support WAY more than the motor can make. Just have that margin of safety or comfort or whatever. 2150s all the way.

Re: Help with injectors?

FIC 2150s have received fantastic reviews on the link forums and other places about how nice they are to tune on both gas and E85.

I'd get those, I have heard that the IDs are matched closer, but FICs customer support has been reported to be excellent and so for me I'm going 2150s.
