Custom Sub box enclosure
 
Hey,

Does anybody here in MN can make a custom sub box enclosure like the ones on eBay? Hopefully a cheaper than that..

Buy MDF board at menards and go to town.. Or you can create something with fiberglass. There are tons of write ups online.

ya just make a pattern out of cardboard and then cut it out of wood. pretty simple. if it were me i wouldnt forget to enclose the subs underneath and not leave them open air

be mindful of the area inside the sub. the sub manufacturers will tell you what the cubic feet of area is required for the subs to sound good. i tried my hand at building a sub box back in the day. built it WAY too big, and it sounded like crap, had someone at ultimate build one for me, and it sounded amazing.

Yeah, you have to know what the sub requires for volume, and if it's meant for a ported or sealed box. Then you have to get as close to that volume as possible, which isn't really easy if you use the rear floor as the bottom of your box. I always got great sound out of the ones I built, but I never do things half-ass.
