the part of the radiator im point to in the pic is leaking coolant through a pin sized hole. It looks like the metal that runs on the bottom of the radiator has broken off causing the leak. Is this fixable? what would it require? |
At checker auto, they sell a radiator repair kit. In it is a fiberglass patch, some sand paper, a sealer and catylist and a brush. You sand around the leak/hole, then cut a piece of fiberglass patch to size, then mix the sealer and the catylist together, brush it on, and let it harden. it worked good for me.
Also, i think there is a additive you can put in your system that will fix leaks. Not sure of how well it works though. |
Ya buy a new one. around $150.00 and it should last like a hundres thousand miles. :goodluck:

before i buy a new radiator, would it be possable to solder the leak shut since its very small or no? if i can fix it for free rather than spend 150$ that would be great.

Call a radiator shop! The braze or solder stuff like that all the time.
Or save the Ass Ache and get a new/used one. |
