Time to turn it up JDM: New GVR4 Record.

Taken from another forum:

"GizmoVR4 and I took the trip to Etown on sunday to make an attempt at the Galant VR4 record and were lucky enough to succeed in busting down that door.

2.3L, GT37R, icewater intercooler, HKS 280's, Gizmo intake, 1g head.
We run Powermist RE85L fuel. FIC 2150's & Aeromotive A1000
No nitrous at all.
Automatic awd, re-stalled converter, shep xcase, dss driveshaft, dss rear axles
M&H 26x8.5x15 slicks on ARE 15x6" wheels.
shifted with a adjustable RPM box & ForcedFour mitsu shift box.
Total weight: 3235 on Etown's scale with driver. Car is about 3000 even."

They know of you JDM:
"We are pretty familiar with 1062, he has us in a huge way with weight and likely power (since he's running a gt42)...just look at him out-trapping us by 10+. I think he said his car was 2400ish, while this car is 3000 without driver. If he gets his car to 60's reasonably and can keep it from breaking, I don't think we have anything for him. Granted, stick trans suck and he's been running on radials, so who knows what will happen next year."

A bit early for a motivational piece, but maybe it will help.

Yes scheides, that's why those guys said they know he is trapping 10mph more and with a good 60' and 330 he will go a lot faster.

You look retarded john has no desire to go auto.

Yes we were talking back and forth on gvr4.org. the owner is a cool guy, and knows what will happen when I get a sub 1.5 short time. But Nate over there is talking mad game. I have a few things I need to take care of over the winter, dog box, slicks, safety items. It sounds like they are keeping the setup the same for next year. I do not think there car will 60' much quicker then they have without braking every other run. I also think there 2.3 and gt37 are close to tapped out. I think they might be able to run a high 8 with a perfect pass.

And no I will not put an auto in the gvr4.

^Yeah buddy.

I think they have a lot more weight to pull out, and maybe could rock a 1.2 60' but I'm hoping you will out do them with the 5 spd.

What kind of wheel and slick setup are you planning on John?

If Crisman gets a little mouthy, give him some crap about his job. He's a janitor these days when he's not sending DSMs to the scrap heap.

We are doing a 5 lug swap and the tires will be a QTP in a 15 x 23.5"x9 or something. Wheels will be a rota to start then save up for volks or Bogart's.

Both cars are beast. Its crazy how technology has come that the small/mid framed turbos are capable of so much more. Tiny mitsu housed turbos in consistent 10s and single digits and mid framed turbos running down the large framed guys like clock work.

I told Nate over on Link that the large framed GVR4 definitely has the potential to take this record back at any moment but it wont be easy. The Auto will stay iin one piece longer and will be more consistent not to mention that car is like 7-1000lbs more lol.

This will be a close fight all the way to the finish line. Its a toss up with 2 badass Galants that both have the potential to go much faster than they are. Its all love in the end and makes me miss my GVR4 even more.

Yes his car is heavier then my feather light moon taxi. I am sporting full weight tin though, no jdm fibber yet. And it sounds like they will not change a thing for next year. If that is the case all I need is a sub 1.5x short time and around 42psi with no miss fires and I will have the record back plus what ever "extra" they have to bring. Because I have a full nitrous kit that can add 150awhp with a button if this fight turns ugly.
