So I've been doing this freebie EVO8 clutch job for a good friend of mine.It was pretty easy till I got to the T-case, I was trying to get the fuckin thing out for a few days, then tonight I figured out you had to remove this half-shaft.Did that and the T-case came off the tranny piece of cake. Then ,for the life of me, I couldn't get the driveshaft out of the t-case.I'm underneath the car, I have my knee supporting the front of the t-case, one hand on the back of it, and one hand on the driveshaft trying to wiggle it loose. The t-case starts to slip off my knee, would of fell right on my nuts, so I let go of the driveshaft to center the t-case back on my knee.Moved it about 1/16th of an inch, and bam , the driveshaft decides to come loose and nails me right on the side of my face, and on top of that I got a eyefull and mouthfull of gear lube.So now I got the worst headache and I can't get the taste of gear lube out of my mouth.Fucking EVOs...

DAMN, you ok? that evo messed you up, those things are deadly, also deadly on the road.

MATCHBX 05-20-2004 12:17 AM

Looks like the cut that gave me the scar on my forehead. Although mine came from a plastic Coke bottle that was hurled at me by my roommate. Sorry to hear about the problems. At least next time you'll know not to put your face where you had it. :D

good god

LightningGSX 05-20-2004 12:55 AM

Yeah, my common sense level seems to be on a steady decline these days.

Enes 05-20-2004 12:59 AM

Aint nuthin' worse than getting your ass kicked by a car.

Raptor 05-20-2004 01:00 AM

Sorry for your pain Eric. The picture I have in my head of this episode resembles one of those old charlie chaplin type films. I am sure it wasn't that amusing in person, but now you have to look back and see some humor in it right? And next time someone asks for an Evo clutch job, run. At least you got the driveshaft off. So what does 90 weight taste like?

Enes 05-20-2004 01:05 AM

Mike, remember Swany? GULP... "croses legs"

holy crap thats how hillarious this was to me!!

It doesn't taste as bad as it smells, so thats a good thing. The taste definately lingers for a while though. The funny thing is, stuff like this happens to me so much I can't even count the incidents any more.It hurt, but not as bad as the time I was working under a truck, sneezed, and bounced my head off the frame rail.

Raptor 05-20-2004 02:30 AM

Damn, that sounds funny as well. Why don't you save some of this stuff for at QPR so I can be more entertained :bounce:

Enes, I thought about that too. Swanny was more worried about the jewels than his head getting squashed. Funny stuff.

AJ 05-20-2004 11:28 AM

HAHAHAHA ahh man that sucks but was pretty funny to read. At least the twig and berries are ok.

Sticky Rice 05-20-2004 11:33 AM

ouch, sorry to hear that man, but since your ok, its funny as hell,

They have the tranny out of an evo at mitsu and they left the tcase in the car, but you do have to get the shafts the axels slide onto out of the tcase.

There is a engine-to-tranny bolt that is covered by the T-case, I wonder how they got to it?

JDM 05-20-2004 01:47 PM

ouch. (and I'm still a post whore)

Goat Blower 05-20-2004 07:16 PM

One more reason I hate working under cars these days. I seem to draw blood about once a month.

A//// Guy 05-20-2004 07:19 PM

Man that sucks, but at QPR the first aid kit has my name on it ;) Right allan haha

Pushit2.0 05-21-2004 12:34 AM
