winter storage places

I was wondering if anyone knew of any places in the southern burbs that has stalls big enough for a car that doesn't mind me tinkering on it. By tinkering I mean taking out my engine. Does a place like this exist?

they do exist... they're called your own garage/shop

seriously though, I would highly doubt you will find such a place. even if you pay for the extra space, having access to your car is not something I would think most storage facilities will offer.

My suggestion would be to go to a mini storage facility and see what it will cost you for a large enough storage unit to fit your car. i think that would be your best bet

Good luck. Storage places will never let you work on your car, nor do most of them have power either. Sometimes you can find a group of gearheads that rent out space, but it's not cheap. The last one I looked at was $350/mo.

Bummer. Looks like my apartment parking lot will have to do.

I believe the main problem with them letting you work on the car is for insurance reasons. If the car drops on your head, there is a huge insurance liability, therefore pretty much all of them don't allow it.
Your own garage is the only way that will happen.

Justin, let me see if we have room. we have a lot of new equipment and a guy that wants to bring "a lot" of boats this winter. we'll have to see how many actually show up

I may have a spot in my garage for one car, but no tinkering with it - storage only. $175 a month. I just need to get a living room set out of there, which should be by the end of this month.
