my first computer build
well i sappose i should have started this when i started getting parts for the comp i was building but i was lazy so here it is now
http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/banner/2024118.png im pretty proud of it, for being my first overclock aswell. tested with prime for 2hours and didnt have a single issue. my temps are 16-18c at idle and 42 under full load im using a coolmaster 212 hyper+ heat sink with a 120mm push pull fan set up. i figured there were some guys on here that might understand what all this is so yeah there it is!! let me know what you think! |

Unless you are running adobe software you should'nt need more then 4gigs of memory but once you start using software or games that need it well then yea, more memory time. Screw overclocking unless it is necessary, you do want to be able to sell this stuff when you upgrade again, since that is the nature of the beast.

nice set ups guys! i just turned down my core voltage from 1.6 to 1.55 and ran prime 95 for 2 hours with no issues might try to lower it some more, but its hard to oc this processer not many have gotten the phenom ii x4 840 up to 4+ghz it has no l3 cache, but it was 100 bucks on sale and i got a 50$ gift card for buying it so i ended up get my hd for free =)
