MustGoFaster 05-18-2004 06:30 PM

I think you should get your car paid off quick befor you pick up another payment.

1Fst14B 05-18-2004 06:37 PM

that would be no fun now, would it??

life life up one credit card at a time...

jk, ive been putting down over 1k on my car every month to get it paid off asap.

:goodluck: Have you ever owned or ridden a motorcycle yet? Or is this just your first adventure?

Its all your choice but from all the other money stories Ive heard dont get owned by the cycle ;)

tpunx99GSX 05-18-2004 07:04 PM

the bike is gonna be around $7,000 but im gonna try to talk him down for referrals to around $6500. and yes life is all about how much debt you can run up, to give yourself as many toys and still be able to keep your head above water.
LOL
Ive Drivin dirt bikes since i was a wee lad. and ive drivin a couple rockets and was able to do just fine at 90 mph. woo hoo what a rush.

Jakey 05-18-2004 08:28 PM

Are you dead set on the CBR? A buddy of mine just picked up a brand new '03 636 for $6300 on closeout so if you looked around I bet you could find a cheap '03 somewhere.

A//// Guy 05-18-2004 10:30 PM

Yea and why so new? You can get many sweet older bikes for 2-3 grand in perfect shape.

Super Bleeder!! 05-19-2004 01:04 AM

i'd also suggest riding something older and cheaper for a year, so when you tip it over you don't want to kill yourself. just an opinion from an expierienced rider

Good luck getting any type of discount at tousley. I would actually shop around a bit to find the best price on that bike. Try excel motorsports in coon rapids they normally have tousleys prices beaten no problem. After my first experiance at tousley I would never go back. Just my opinion.

Oh and there is also Larson's cycle in cambridge (awesome prices) and motoprimo in minneapolis.

Good luck.

Enes 05-19-2004 09:51 AM

btw Tom, it is a lot easier to get deals from the dealers OUTSIDE the city limits...

have fun and good luck

I believe there are also Honda bike dealers down in Rochester and Owatonna if you REALLY want to shop around.

Pic up a used Suzuki GSXR 600 for less then 4000.
Lol tom last time you got a promotion you lost your job shortly after not trying to be a prick at all but make sure your job and promotion is set in stone for a few weeks atleast. I'm sure you'l be able to afford the bike payment and car payment but what about bike insurance??? Moped insurance for a record like yours would be probably 500 a month.

SlowWhite 05-19-2004 11:35 AM

Tom,

When you get the bike - Hit me up we'll go riding.

I've been wanting to pick up a 40th Anniversary GSXR600, or an 04R6 (Red/Black) for sometime now so that I can go riding with Jenny.

Once the car's up and running, I'm going to be looking at Bikes more then likely.

ps: I like the color of the bike, but not a honda fan.

Also with the insurance thing - they are right. You are going to have a problem with it due to your tickets, ask your current insurance agent to see if they'll even give you insurance for a bike first before buying one.

AJ 05-19-2004 12:56 PM

Tom fuck the bike and do the AT to MT conversion.
