Tire Selection Advice
I am looking for some new tires on my rear wheel drive vehicle to gain some additional traction. My driving takes place on the street the majority of the time, and drag strip minimal.
I'm looking for some of the best grip and handling possible for a street driver. I currently am having issues hooking up with my 245 all season tires. The tire sizes that I am interested in are as follows: fronts: 245/40/19 rears: 285/35/19 The Bridgestone Potenenza RE-11's interest me, but I'm not sure if they are worth the price. I'd be interested in hearing what others have used with good experiences or even some brands that I should steer away from because of bad experiences. Thanks in advance. |
Re: Tire Selection Advice
I told him to post up here guys, they didn't have the nt-05's or star specs in the sizes he needs and I know there are others on here who have used tons of different tires.
He is the white g8 that has been to our dyno days and cruise just for an fyi. |
Re: Tire Selection Advice
Well your choices are limited unfortunately because of the staggered size and (somewhat uncommon) 19 inch rim size.
I would probably suggest that you just get a set of different rims and tires if you plan on going to the track. Maybe get a set of 18" rims with a higher sidewall tire (if they will fit over your brakes). The main reason I say this is because A) 18" tires are less expensive and B) the tires in your size are so incredibly expensive, I wouldn't waste their tread at the track. |

Re: Tire Selection Advice
assuming you can get them in the size you want. i will throw my vote in for some continental DW. or the DWS if you want all seasons.
thats what i put on my sc400 and ive been loving them ever since. they also have great wet traction. |
