95 and 98 eclipse Motor and Transmission difference?

Does anybody know what the difference is of the 95 gst and 98 gst eclipse engine and automatic transmission. Because Im looking at getting a 95 eclipse engine and automatic transmission to go into my 98 eclipse gst. I have heard from people that there is a crank sensor difference.

If anybody can help me out that would be great!

The cam angle sensor/cam gear setup is different on the 95-96. The 97-99 is more like the 90-94.

Do you know if there was any difference for the transmission?

I don't know, if there are differences, there is a good chance it doesn't matter. There was difference in the trans/t-case stuff between the 95-96 and 97-99 AWDs(some people don't realize this and put a 95 t-case on a 98 or a 95 trans with 98 t-case and the car will hop when you hit bumps in the road because the tires are not turning at the same speeds front vs rear).
