Anybody near Fargo able to help me pull a cel?

I threw a cel on the galant the other day after I installed my FIAV bypass plate. I'm pretty sure the cel came on because I started the car before I plugged in a sensor on accident, but I'm unable to clear/check the code. I tried disconnecting the battery for a while, but the cel stayed on. Any help or advice would be grand. thanks,
-Brian

Is this for the GVR4?

If the GVR4 is anything like a 1G DSM, it will be easy to pull the code. All you need is a led and a couple of leads with alligator clips. The led will flash the code when you hook it up right to the diagnostic port and won't do anything when hooked up wrong. Read the flashes as if you are reading it with a analog multimeter arm sweep. You can also user a buzzer like the VFAQ.

Unplug the ECU for a while and plug it back in. If it was a CEL caused by you starting it with the sensor disconnected it should be wiped. Then give the car some time to idle so it can "relearn" your ECU.

Cars need to learn their ecus?

When you reset your ECU, yes. Stored values are wiped and need to be "relearned" by the ECU by idle/driving.

Not making this up:

most of the car places here in ND dont have anything to read an OBD1 Mitsu. Thats why I had a palm logger setup. Way easier.

Thanks. I saw something like this, but wasn't sure if there was an easier way or not. I'll give this a try.

Once I figure out the code, I'll more than likely have to unplug the ecu. Thanks.

If your interested for the future I have a logger and cable I could sell you. Autozone or anybody else will not have the plug to pull your code on a 1g or GVR4, if you have a 2g then yes they will. I like the idea about using the gator clips and connecting to ports so the check engine light flashes the code, I do this on my blazer except all I have to do is run 2 ports together and the check engine light flashes, no led needed..
