kaboom........
Last week I went to CFR for a Friday night race and got everything set up. I took a few psi out of each gear cause the weather was much better than the last time I ran the car. Anyways went up to make my first pass and did a burn out in third pulled up to the line ran a pro tree cut a. 027 R/T and went 1-2-3-4 it missed a few tines in 3rd and 4th but still went 10.1@146 I was slowing down and looked down and there was no oil pressure so I let off the brakes cause I was on them hard doing like 130mph hit the gas rpms went to about 3500 and still no oil pressure so I shut it off and coasted.
Took the motor out cause it was locked up and I found this and the number 4 main bearing was stuck to the crank! http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/k...3200473306.jpg When did it break Idk but felt kindof fast!!!!!lol I've used this oil pump crank and main bearinngs for 4 years now so I can't complain too much. Hope to have it back on the dyno next week to make sure everything is ok to make it to the track to get some 9's!!!! |
Re: kaboom........
Shitty, but awesome you are going to have it back so soon. So close to 9's, you'll get it though.

Re: kaboom........
Fuck that blows, but sounds like you got some usage out of it. Good luck getting it back together.

Re: kaboom........
That oil pump only ate itself a little bit...
Good to hear you'll be right back at it, though. |
Re: kaboom........
That motor's lasted you forever. If I were you, I'd just build a new one, I forgot your current setup but there's probably something better now.
Maybe some alu rods since she's a trailer queen now? |
