rear axle removal?

I have never removed the rear axles on my 2g before and need to know the best way to do so. The axle is loose in the hub and loose in the rear end.. what do I have to take off to get the axle out? Instead of guessing I would like someone to tell me what I need to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks NICK FROM MAP! I got the axle off! I will post pictures up on my build thread of the axle in a little bit.
