Help in need of a huge trailer!

I'm trying to find a bumper pull 30-35 foot trailer to put 2 Honda hatchbacks on to Columbus Ohio for a import face off race.

If anyone knows someone that I could give money to use or some place to rent one that would be awesome.

Leaving 8/27
Return 8/29

Thanks.

That might be tough, I haven't ever heard of a place that rents more than a single place trailer. You might be best renting 20' Uhaul and a car trailer, and throw one Honda in the truck. They fit.

If we can get the Evo figured out, we may be interested in heading down as well. I could probably pick up 1 of them and you guys could haul the other.

If you do find a trailer just keep in mind they are HEAVY, mine empty is roughly 8k.

Yeah a enclosed is alot heavier but well be using 2011 F350 should be fine. Keep me posted about going 3 cars 3 classes could win a combined $2100 at 1/2 the pay out if we all win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watch your GVWR. Ive been having a tough time finding a good enclosed trailer that I can actually pull without getting a class A.

How big of a trailer are you looking @? I got a 34' and w/ 2 cars fully loaded i was @ 20,840 gross, plenty of room to grow before required class A in ND.

Need to figure out why the Evo keeps dropping off power between 7200-8300 before it'll be winning anything. $2100 might cover travel expenses...

The truck alone is rated for 15,000 Lbs. Most dual axle trailers are ok but the tripple axle ones are usually rated at 15,000 Lbs which would put me over.

Yes, thats what there rated for, but do you plan to exceed 26k loaded?

The class D you cannot exceed 26000lbs GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). doesn't matter if the truck and trailer empty is only 12000 lbs, if its rated for 30,000 lbs then you need a class A.

Personally that wouldnt sway me away from buying any trailer. If that were a case where they were scaling everyone on the road then nobody would be pulling anything w/ the newer cummins and duramax that are rated @ 22k by themselves.

To each his own though.....

Just remember for those of you with businesses, if you exceed 10,001 lbs combined weight truck+trailer you are subject to DOT rules.
Private parties are okay, but businesses hauling items (even race cars) need to follow DOT regulations.
CDL's are over 26k lbs.

Most enclosed car trailers long enough for two cars are fifth wheel trailers, not bumper pull. Only bumper pull 2 car enclosed trailers are those expensive double deckers with the lifts in them. Then you can center most of the weight over the axles.

later,
Curt

Bah, not true. I got a 34' enclosed bumper pull that we put 2 cars in all the time. There out there just not nearly as common as say a 24'.

Nate, whats the specifics for this event? We got the bugs worked out of the evo, so as long as it stays together may have a good interest in going. Now you gotta play catch up!

Stock ECU. Went to AEM and it cleared up whatever gremlins the stock ECU wouldnt let go.
