My father's new DD

As some of you noticed on Facebook, my father picked up a new DD, it's some weird blue hatchback thing, and I'm not sure what to make of it, so on with the pictures!

It's an '08, 40k on the clock, pre-recall VIN/build date so it's still got the factory tune, we'll likely set something up with Shane to make sure it's fixed properly and for good. I'm not gonna lie though, it's fun, and it actually handles pretty good for a Subi. It might get a build thread depending on what all he decides to do with it, but I can guarantee it'll be at the next dyno day.

I tried to push him to an Evo but there're no decent Xs for sale right now and he needed to replace his old DD that got bought back under a safety recall last week.

Nice and not bad at all! beats a 10 year old DD. Those Ralliarts are pretty nice too!

Didn't even think about that, I'll see what he thinks!

'01 Isuzu Rodeo. Safety recall for the rear frame rotting out around the LCA mounting points is what did it in, neither of the reinforcement brackets would work it was so bad. He was kinda hoping that would be the case when he dropped it off, they gave him way more than he'd have gotten on a trade-in.

Very nice! Adam from MAP bought a 2010 STI hatchback and I've ridden around in it a few times with him; nice car indeed and it should make for an excellent DD.

My suggestions are to get a good conservative tune on that thing ASAP along with a few simple bolt-ons and some shifter bushings.

Your dad bought a STi and you're not hounding him about getting it modded yet? Ya right!

Impressive indeed. I'll have to share that one. He'll need justification once my mother finds out about mod intentions. :D

EDIT: I should also note that he's looking to have the hood painted to get rid of all the rock chips and then having a clear bra applied.

And I need hydraulic hood props, his are making me really jealous.

Yeah I like that story, I shared it with SOA when they posted it. Not sure if they decided to do anything with it.

Check with Dent Kraft, they have a special touch-up painting procedure that does a really nice job and is much cheaper than a full repaint. My dad had it done on his GTO and I had it done on my S2k. Then they can do the clear-bra over the top of it.

Did you mess with the pictures to make the STI logos not look pink? LOL Or is this some special "non breast cancer awareness" edition STI? :-)

Thanks for the tip, I'll let him know!

And the badges are red, just like they're supposed to be!

How it came in vs how it left, the tune was definitely a necessity:

And the all important overlay vs my car:

According to Shane, this is the highest HP bone stock, stock boost new body STi that has been on their dyno, making more than some slightly modded ones.
