MAPerformance Oil Cooler kit results
Im trying to figure out what kind of oil temps people are seeing with the MAP oil cooler kit. Please let me know what kind of temps your seeing with daily driving and while at the track or boosting for a longer period of time. Appreciate the help, trying to decide if I should get a Setrab cooler rather than the B&M that the MAP kit offers.

Re: MAPerformance Oil Cooler kit results
I don't know too many people that log oil temperature, but I know that my water temp took longer to heat up as a result of adding an oil cooler.
I believe most people with oil temp are usually road racers and such. Good luck. |
Re: MAPerformance Oil Cooler kit results
I just figured someone would pay attention to their oil temp gauge...for instance I know that on those 90° days this week my oil temp was up to 240° and normally it runs 210°.

Drag racers and street racers don't need an oil cooler at all.

We can certainly set you up with a setrab if you like as well :)

Re: MAPerformance Oil Cooler kit results
Engines like the oil when it's warm, getting it too cool can hinder performance. The only time you should be worried about oil temps is when you have sustained load, such as road racing.

Re: MAPerformance Oil Cooler kit results
^Smart idea, I would not road race a DSM without a cooler on it. Subarus down here have a common tendency to blow up due to excessive oil temps on the track.
