my slow project...
Well about a 2 months ago I bought my 1999 gsx bone stock with 101xxx miles, and the boost bug and got me. 2 weeks later I got an intake, and did all the "free" mods I could do, and a full tune up. Now waiting on the ups truck...
Aem wideband Prosport boost gauge Prosport oil pressure gauge Cheap ass glow shift A pillar pod Megan down pipe MBC Punishment racing FMIC W/some knock off BOV cat back off of ebay :) I am a cheap ass. That is it for now. I think I am off to a good start. After that I am going to see what a tune would be and what all I would gain from it. Or see if it is worth it being I am still on the stock t25. I am not sure if I am going to wait for winter and just do a 6 bolt swap, or do fuel pump, injectors, and a evo16g I feel like that is the only thing I can do right now. Pics will be posted as I receive them, and installing them. One last thing! I have heard different things from different people and would like a strait up answer. Can you tune the stock ecu in a 99 gsx, and is that all for all 99s. Thanks. http://i55.tinypic.com/9t1yk8.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/33xa8oj.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/8zocc1.jpg |

Re: my slow project...
You can reflash the 99 plastic ecu's yes. It is possible.

Re: my slow project...
Looks clean, I like the wheels! Now get some springs! haha
I thought the 98-99 7 bolts weren't *as* bad with crankwalk? |
Re: my slow project...
The 97+ 7 bolts cranck walking isn't as common as 95-96. Also, is this a stick or auto? Not a fan of the side skirts and it looks like the back bumper is a aftermarket one? Are you going to swap them out for some stock ones or keep it as is?
If your only going to be running a 16g at the moment I wouldn't worry about doing a 6 bolt swap at this time. Just my .02 |
Re: my slow project...
Stock t25 for now want to put 200 at the wheels.
|
Re: my slow project...
I was thinking of puting it back to stock but i am more interested in making it faster first. Some day i will put it back to stock.
|
Re: my slow project...
I guess I'm not sure how far the t25's can be pushed safely.. 200awhp on shanes dyno you will need a 16g I would think but I could be wrong.

Re: my slow project...
I am not to worried about numbers but that is kinda my goal.
|
Re: my slow project...
It can be done. That hollywood kid made 200 on shanes dyno. car looks really clean

Re: my slow project...
It’s been a long time i wasn’t lying when this project is slow... lol
Fmic installed Megan DP installed srs eBay catback installed. The only issue i am having now is fuel cut. I am not sure what i am running for boost. so i am going to take it very easy on the car till Sunday when i can get the afr, boost, and mbc in. I did a BLT right after the fmic install and it was doing very well it would hold psi for 30 sec. and would still have pressure. I think i am going to do one more just to be safe. http://i56.tinypic.com/2h6y0eb.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/6ru15i.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/ounnnq.jpg |
Re: my slow project...
could be fuel cutting because of more air going in/out...especially on a stock ecu. I know my cousin's talon was doing this with his e316g + stock injectors. Might need to get more fuel in or just a tune ;)

Re: my slow project...
FWD DSMs can hit in the low 200s with the T25 on my dyno, but it won't happen with an AWD, except in shootout mode. I can tune the 98/99 ECU, done a bunch of them.

Re: my slow project...
Lookin' good Joel

Re: my slow project...
Nice 2G! Really clean hope to see it around the streets some time!
|
Re: my slow project...
I have a few more things to install 3 gauges and the mbc. And it will be comming to you shane for a tune. Have to get this fuel cut figured out.

Re: my slow project...
Well i think i am running very rich because i didnt put the exhaust ground strap back on. Put the silencer in and it seemed to help the fuel cut. Might need to take out the bottom of the maf.
