Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
how the F does a miata beat a evo. In the same breath, how does an Evo beat some of those on that list i havent the slightest.

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
Have you driven a Miata Tom?
Clearly this would answer your question :) -Colin |
Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
There are some strange picks on that list...
|
Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
I hear driver's car - I think S2k. That list fails. Strange picks indeed.

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
S2K has a powerband from hell...
Hell as in the bad hell, not like a bat out of hell. Not enough low end torque to feel fun, maybe that is why? I thought they are fun to drive though... -Colin |
Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
The Type R and NSX made it though, NSX is also a damn fun car to drive, but the overly long 5-speed gearing made it feel sluggish. The Type R is also fun but it's still a FWD econobox at heart.

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
After driving the NSX my two biggest complaints were gearing ratios (5-speed) and a cramped driver's footwell.

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
Oh sweet, my favorite car won!
Although, I do find the list to be a little strange, myself. I'd suggest the RX-7 FD3S... |
Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
The list doesn't seem that weird to me, I am surprised the Miata didn't place higher and that the Lotus Elise didn't place higher. The Type-R is a great track car.

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
Depends on the Miata, honestly. Between my Dad's '06 Miata and my Evo, the Evo wins on driving comfort hands down. Steering ratios are damn similar, pedal and gearbox feel are great on both, but the seats in the Miata, which has the Grand Touring package no less, are just lackluster as far as comfort goes.
I'd take the Evo for every single possible driving desire save for cruising with the top down, for obvious reasons. Give me a gen 2 MazdaSpeed version, however, and it's game on. |
Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
The Lotus 2-Eleven isn't street legal (here) but I'm curious how it'd compare to the 340r. I've seen reviews where they've said it is faster than the Caterham but they like the driving dynamics of the Caterham better.

Yeah, Miata's are a hell of a lot of fun, for little money.

I've just been busy with school and finding a job Pete!

Re: Quite interesting Top 50 drivers cars!
I approve of that list. There are some cars that do seem odd, but there's more to driving a car than having a billion horsepower, tires wider than a barn and electronic gadgetry that makes the space shuttle look like a science fair project.
