E85 Aftermarket Fuel Filters
 

So I've been reading on this on a few random (domestic) forums and didn't really find a good answer.

For those of you with aftermarket Fuel Filters (Aeromotive, Holley, Russell, etc...), what fuel filters are you running WITH your E85?

I am told the Aeromotive paper ones aren't good to run w/ E85. I found a few people say something about a 40 micron fuel filter, then I've read some honda guys that use a typical http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RU...n/?prefilter=1

Thing is though, I have an Aeromotive http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-pa...d-fuel-filter/

but it's 100 micron and is said to be used pre-pump and I don't have an external pump set up on this car anymore.

ANYONE who is using an aftermarket fuel filter on their E85 set ups, please chime in with any info.

I ran a Golan filter from Jay Racing. It worked fine for me, but I checked it often because I heard of quite a few cases of the Golans failing. From now on I know I'm going to steer away from them.

I also thought that on a fuel injected application, you want the inline filter to typically filter down to 10 micron levels.

That's the one I ran, but again I heard of quite a few failures of the internal filtering element, so even though mine never failed after 2 years, I plan on running something else in the future.

Yea, I was told that I wanna try and use a 10 micron filter, but have it not be paper... and I'm not finding that. I have a 100 micron Aeromotive that I'm sure I probably shouldn't use then I assume?

I also am trying to figure out wtf micron is/does/means? I assume it's how fine the filter element filters? :currently googling the answer:

I use one, and though it didn't get used for long before I left for 中国, I think the only drawback with the A1000 pump was the lack of a check valve.

I use the Jegs brand filter because it was cheaper than the aeromotive. In my opinion, if you can use it after the pump, that will be fine; Stainless is sure to last longer than paperand therefore better, despite the higher micron number.

Micron is a measurement of size. The smaller the number the smaller particles will be caught by the filter.

So a 10 micron would filter way better than a 100 micron right?
