New guy "pic added"
Hello. Just picked up my first dsm. So I figured I would join and post up.
I have been a v8 guy at heart but have always loved the tuner cars. So to be different I decided to get a gsx. I was looking at getting a evo sti wrx gsx or a tsi. I decided a 1999 gsx because cheeper up front caust and still have alot of room for power. future mod list down pipe Intake Mbc 1g bov Boost, afr, oil pressure gauges. With a piller mount. Dsmlink v3 lite Fmic. Not sure what I will put down for power on stock turbo my guess is around 220 to the wheels. After I pull the triger I am going to go with a small 16g and arp head studs and see if I can hit 270 to the wheels. Thanks all in advance for all the good reading on the fourm. This is with the winter tires and rims. http://i56.tinypic.com/29ymmaf.jpg |
Re: New guy
see below Im still a NOOB!

Re: New guy
Welcome! And on my stock turbo I think I put down like 140@ RS? 220 is factory talk for to the crank powa.
|
Re: New guy
Yeah I think I can hit 220 at the wheels with my bolt on mods and a good tune. If I am wrong let me know.
|
Re: New guy
Also I see you are in linnwood so am I right off of 22 and viking. By ej's bar.
|
Re: New guy
I am your cars red and you followed me home sat. night I was in my van. It has side skirts right? I live like a mile past EJbar/shell towards wyomng right off 22.

Re: New guy
Yes sir that is correct. Hope they dont look to bad, bought it that way and I dont think it looks to bad.
|
Re: New guy
welcome! :D An Evo 3 16g + bigger injectors + bigger fuel pump + tune can quickly make you get over that 220 goal ;)
|
Re: New guy
Yeah I want to do everything else first and see what I can get with the stock turbo. Then do the upgraded turbo to make it more effective in the long run.

Re: New guy
What's up Joel, welcome to the dark side. Imma have to look your new whip over at one of the Monday meets.
You need any help let me know |
Re: New guy
Welcome! So is this thing currently bone stock or what? If so, nice find. I wouldn't bother with a small 16g though unless you already have one lined up or something, Evo III 16G's are cheap. :D

Re: New guy
welcome, e316G ftw!!
|
Re: New guy
Thanks all. Right now it is bone stock. it does have different side skirts and rear bumper. I think it looks ok so i think they will stay on. I am going to post up some pics now.
I was thinking small 16g because it will spool up fast and I can still hit my goal of 250-300 wheel. Bit if you think other ways let me know I am open to information and you opinions. |
Re: New guy
If you want a fast spooling snail that will not only reach, but exceed your goal with I'd go with an E316G. I know someone already said go e85 with an e316g, and their right. Welcome to the site!

Re: New guy
Thanks.
I am not sure if i am going to go e85 just because i am going to drive it all year. really don't want to go through all the tuning issues going from summer to winter grade E85. |

Re: New guy
I loved my old setup(B16g, 550 injector, exhaust, fmic, etc). Very fun and spool was great. It was on stock 7 bolt also.
