Bottoms Up

Literally, beer from the bottom of the glass to the top.

I'm actually really curious as to how that works.

I understand the concept, a moveable plunger, kinda like the female end of an air line fitting. How they can make it cheap enough and seal well enough in a flimsy plastic cup is a whole different story.

Exactly. I'd be worried about it leaking on me.

Maybe it's just magnetic seal or something? Damn cool!

Re: Bottoms Up

The bottom of the glass has a small flat magnetic ring on it that surrounds a hole, then a circular magnet covers that, it looks like a flat refrigerator magnet. When you press down it pushes the magnet away and beer flows in. Pretty sweet, but makes me wonder how much more expensive the cups are, you'd have to sell a lot of beer to make up for it, which is what the whole idea behind this is.

The Wells Fargo Arena (downtown Des Moines) just implemented these and I saw it on the news. I'll try to get a video of it in person next time I'm there and take the glass apart with pics/vids.
