FS: 2003 Evo VIII

* SOLD *

I've been wanting to travel a lot lately so I'm trying to get rid of payments.

105k miles. 2nd owner.

Mods:

BR Stage 2
Straight Pipe is installed, HiFlo Cat will be included.
Braille 17lb battery
Walbro HighFlo fuel pump.
Exedy Twin Plate HD clutch
SS Clutch Line - no pill.
Road Tuned on 91 Octane
Slotted rotors
Stock VIII Enkei's with winter Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3
Greddy Warning Boost gauge (they don't make them any more)
Other stuff like grounding kit, bushings.
Stock suspension with Crucial Racing Springs

Buyer will have to take all original and miscellaneous (Cusco catch can, turboXS MBC, OEM intercooler piping, etc) parts off my hands.

Car condition:

Normal wear and tear. Some surface rust - under left wing upright and driver's door trailing corner.

Other notes:

Clutch is noisy. Not sure what the deal is, never issues shifting or anything, just a lof of noise. I hear it's normal with the Exedy Twin.

65k mi. maintenance has not been completed. I have replaced the tranny fluid, and have a full jug of unused Mitsubishi gear oil for the transfer case. You will get the complete timing belt kit, I just haven't installed it. Everything's there, water pump, tensioners, etc.

a/c light bulb broken, but the a/c works fine. And typical temperature control knob sticky issue with the Evos.

Trying to get all of the information out there about it.

Are you firm on the price or will you accept offers? Anyway you can fix that clutch? Can anyone chime in and or diagnose that clutch noise?

From what I've heard is that twin disks chatter and that's just what they do. Nothing should be wrong with it.

This is what Ron said about mine when it seemed to chatter a bit on takeoff:

I did that and the chatter was gone, you just have to kind of burn the shit off the plates/disks every now and again I guess. DO this and I bet the chatter goes away. Just rev the motor up and slowly let the clutch out and kind of ride the clutch like that a few times. As for the noise, all twin disks are going to sound loud and like the car is falling apart, its just how they work.

Also, how much does it cost to replace these twin plate clutches? I'm not used to them and I'm just thinking ahead.

Did mctenold forget about this thread? I know for a fact that he's active on the local Subaru forum.

You need the two disks and sometimes the sandwich plate, they're pretty reasonable. The QM one I had was about $250 for just the disks.

Is that a Buschur exhaust?

Re: FS: 2003 Evo VIII

Didn't forget about it. Firm on the price at this point. From what I've heard the noise is common. It drives me nuts, but apparently it's not an issue with functionality.

Yep, Buschur from the turbo to the muffler, muffler is Magnaflow.

Fastest way to get ahold of me on here is to PM me so I get an email.

Ok, ready to sell this now. Gotta spend my monies elsewhere at this point in my life.

More miles now, 105K, as this is my DD and will be until it's sold. Still same issues as before:

Clutch is noisy. Not sure what the deal is, never issues shifting or anything, just a lof of noise. I think it's the normal Exedy twin noise.
