Which is more important?

So, a while back I had posted a thread about Anthony Weiner going crazy on the floor about the 9/11 first responders bill.
So now the bill has finally gone to the senate FINALLY, but what happens again.... oh yea, FILABUSTERED by the republicans.
Why is it so easy to give tax cuts for the rich, but yet Heros on 9/11, the firemen, police officers, crane operators, and people what wanted to help are getting no help from the government. These people were doing their job, and many of them now have cancer, respitory diseases and other ailments FROM saving lives and bringing closure to so many families, yet we spit in their face when it comes to helping these people get the care they need.
Im glad the republicans really have their prioritys straight.
If you have Comcast or cable or can get comedy central on demand, check out the Daily Show from yesturday 12/20.
p.s. sorry but the question was, What is more important for the republicans, tax cuts for the rich, or heath for the heros of 9/11?
Tom

No reason to discuss the same shit twice:

I'll tell you right now, the tax cuts were on my mind a whole lot more than the bill you're raising hell about.

Re: Which is more important?

Looking at the other thread, it got so far off topic that it wasnt worth posting another failure of the republicans you guys voted for.
Im am really looking forward to the next two years. yay.

Re: Which is more important?

Silly Tom, once again, you gloss over all the details and make a comparison that has no bearing.

The problem with the bill as it stands is that it was a $7.4B blank check for anybody that had any problem at all, kind of like all the rest of the dem bills that have out of control spending and put millions in the pockets of their buddies. Throwing that kind of money at something without any actual rules or qualifications invites tons of fraud, something that dems never worry about, but the rest of America now is. By voting against this now and redoing the bill completely once some common sense shows up in January, we'll have far less money going to unions and politicians and more money to the people that actually should be getting it, the responders.

Tax cuts for the rich, blah blah blah. Tax cuts should be for everybody, not just the people that don't pay any.

I am willing to bet, that the bill goes down in flames come January and never sees the light of day. Along with a lot of bills that help the people. (See sig reference)

I would rather just not hire a guy to mow my lawn, and make the misses do it.

That's about as rich as your prediction that the democrats would dominate the recent elections.

And you know why? Compromise! The two parties worked together! Holy shit, you mean politics works when you cross the aisle?! :jackoff:

As Febo said not too long ago, partisan politics needs to die. We need people politics.
