All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
This is crazy awesome! The good'ol walbro 255HP has always been good at making great power, especially with a BAP behind it, but being able to skip the BAP and just drop-in a new pump that can flow pretty big numbers (even on E85) is just awesome! This thread will have info on all of them, feel free to add, especially if you have first-hand experience with any of them (including deciding to pick one up!)
Aeromotive 'Stealth' 340 ($190-ish?): http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t...ealth_logo.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t..._FlowChart.jpg http://www.lsxtv.com/news/pri-2010-a...lth-fuel-pump/ DeatschWerks DW300 ($170): http://www.maperformance.com/product..._DW-300-1a.jpg http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/q...nkpump-1-1.jpg Jay Racing PT342 ($150): http://www.jayracing.com/images/products/PT342.jpg http://imgur.com/P0Gp1l.jpg (click for high res) I've also heard that Buschur is going to make their own (I'm sure it will be someone else's re-labeled though): http://forums.evolutionm.net/8919621-post99.html Price for all of these is in the $150-200 range, will be interesting to see people start using these! |
Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Pretty sure MAP said they were going to have something for sale similar to these soon as well.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
When are they going to make some nice pumps for Direct injection. :(

Dang. I should have waited, lol.

haha, well done scheides. would read again.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
MAP is selling the DW pumps, I believe they just made 624whp on a dsm with a single DW pump.
I'll be hopefully throwing one of these in my car before the season starts next year. |
Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Nice. I'm still going to rock my dual wally setup. If I max it out, I may look at these. Would a pair of these provide high enough flow at higher fuel pressure to run some of these High-Z injectors at higher pressures to flow more? My injectors will probably be more my limit, but if I can find a simple way to run higher FP, then they should be able to support more.

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
We have tried the DW and its everything its cracked up to be, the aeromotives are not available(will start shipping next week) and we have not tried one out yet but I am sure we can them for something like $165ish. Either way the DW out performs at all fuel pressures vs the Aeromotive.
just my .02 Thanks DC |

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
I thought the Jay racing pump outflowed a 044?
Either way, I'm just gonna do a DW and deal locally with MAP if there is any issues which there shouldn't be, I met the DW guys and they seem pretty cool as well. |
Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Soooooo....it's nearing decision time and I'm looking at one of these three pumps. The flow data seems pretty similar on all of these, I'll likely be running 26-30psi on my X.
all around 300 at 60psi and 275 at 70psi base is ~40 and I'll run 26-30psi so in that 65-70psi fuel pressure range, right? going up to 80psi though, the aeromotive kinda dies off and falls to 225, while the DW holds 250-255. MAP has tested the DW300 with great results...has anyone else run any of these yet, or have any links to any more tests/stories? |
Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Hrm, no real data to back it up but wonder what the truth to this is (in reference to the aeromotive):

Here is a rough overlay that was posted in that thread you posted comparing the DW and the Aeromotive http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...Comparison.jpg Would be nice if someone would make a chart for a modded walbro as well. Maybe if enough people bother Buschur he will test one. lol |
Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
None of the pictures of these new pumps show the top of the pump real well, but seeing as how they are in the same casing, would it be safe to assume they could also have the pressure relief mod done to them?

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Do these eliminate the use of a boost-a-pump or would that still be required for the 634hp? someone metioned earlier?

Re: All Sorts of Higher-Flowing fuel pumps coming onto the market
Since I'm posting....
Guy at RS said he swapped a wally255 for the jay racing 340 and it made nearly no difference...this was not on the dyno when the swap occurred, but who knows. He also said it is nearly silent, which is kinda cool. End conclusion was that the pump wasn't getting enough voltage/amperage and needed to be rewired....might as well do a BAP at that point? IDK... http://forums.evolutionm.net/alterna...fuel-pump.html Also another guy with the jay racing pump, 1g dsm, said to make sure its rewired... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dyno...#post152424157 Searching around |

FWIW, I think 311Evo made ~490-500 @ DB with the modded Walbro before the BAP |
