I'm watching this show on the History channel. In Afghanistan, a canadian sniper team "engaged an enemy"(their nice way of saying they killed his ass) at over 2640 yards, thats a mile and a half.I guess that set a world record, previously held by an American in Viet Nam.

damn, last night I was watching the history channel also but it was on the histroy of the nhra... it was kinda cool to see how drag racing started! They ended the show with a RWD drag integra tiwn turbo 4cyl. 3 spark plugs a hole...nitro methane, alcohol, and a block made of solid alumminum...no place for oil an coolante...he has a plan to supposidly run faster than 6 second's in the 1/4...

I watched that also.

I saw the one with the guy in Vietnam. It was crazy stuff. The guy saw a reflection off his enemys gun on a hill at some crazy distance and killed him. It was very cool to watch ;)

Shit mile and a half - I could do that! :bs:
|
They have a show on guided weapons on now, I can't think of many things cooler than watching a Tomahawk cruise missle take out a target.

yeah caught that too at 3am or so. was a 4.8L 4cyl though, norwood expected 4000hp i think
|
yep, chris rado's car is being covered by turbo magazine in several installments. it's pretty sick, totally different that all previous FWD dragsters

Huh, Bob Norwood is a famous Ferrari tuner. He made an insane twin turbo testarossa around '90 or so. It was like 1200 hp, but he had to tame it down because the drivetrain kept grenading.

Carlos Hathcock, he was the vietnam sniper you speak of. Made the BEST of what he had, and I think he had parkinson's disease at the time... Or at least the early stages by normal shaking.

yeah i remember also watching a program with a sniper competition between the US, the brits and the canuks i believe.
"what car did he put that flat 12 in? it had a train supercharger on it. heh." i also remember reading about that not too long ago, he fuggin built his own centripetal supercharger before there was such a thing on the market. he took a huge turbo, took it apart and kept only the compressor, fabbed up a gear drive, slapped it on his flat-12 ferrari and ran some crazy ass times and got booted from the track. he was talking about it in a magazine article that came out within the last 6 months.....now if i could only remember which one fucking sweet, look what i found |
