Safety Warning to all those with welders

No, it's not really about welding, a welder sure helps the probelm along quite nicely!

Wow, crazy but good to know. I know I rarely read the actual labels when using these sprays. Maybe now i will do that more often. thanks for sharing.

Chemical weapons 101. I feel sorry for the guy...I've made my share of poor judgment calls.

anyone know if this would apply to common brake/carb cleaners you can get at auto parts stores? That's pretty much all I use.

Thats what he was using in the article. common brake cleaner bought at a auto parts store.
Just dont light it on fire, or weld around it and you will be fine.

That's fucking scary I use this shit to clean my hands, yes I know I'll probably die of skin cancer. What's even more scary is I'm as stubborn as this dude when it comes to shit like that, I'll have to remember that.

Holy crap, I use brake cleaner for everything, including cleaning areas I'm going to weld. I've never hit a wet patch of it though, I usually dry it with compressed air. I had no idea it could be that serious, but I do get a little buzz when I use a couple of cans in a row.

Does this include the non-chlorinated stuff? That's all I use due to already having sensitive sinuses.

I should look at PB Blaster, too, that shit always gives me a nasty cough.

Yeah it seemed like something important to share. I know I was in a garage with a welder using brake cleaner last night. Didn't clean what was being welded with it but, a 2 second decision and I could have been.

As for what it includes, read the label. It says right on the can not to use it around welders.
