Coils 1 & 4 not sparking

Got a 4g63 that has a sparking problem, it wants to turn over, but Coils 1 & 4 are not sparking. We put the plugs on the exhaust mani to test for spark. We also switched around wires, so its not the spark plugs or wires. Tehodie gave me a descent coil set, and the same thing keeps happening. Any ideas cuz I'm at a dead end here...:scared:

Did you try a different power transistor yet (flat square black thing on intake manifold)?

There's only two coils, 1 and 4 are on the same coil. If you have spark on 2 and 3, you just need to replace the single coil on the plate.

You can also check to see that the coil is getting power. I believe the wiring on those is pretty straightforward. With a multimeter, check the signal coming to the 2/3 coil and see if it's the same on the 1/4 coil.

Try a new power transistor, and if thats not it your going to have to trace the signal wire that signals the coil to fire which should be a red wire. Check from the coil back to the ecu for any problems. Then check the pin out on the ecu for coil 1 and 4 and if theres nothing there your ecu is the problem.

anyone have a power transistor I could borrow for a couple hours?

What about the one I gave you? I also have one on my car to that you can try.
