Don't think this is the era of handouts?
Think again. Apparently it's a right to have a personal communication device.

Here's another one: http://www.examiner.com/social-media...am-for-smokers
I guess low income smokers need a free Blackberry to help them quit? Who comes up with this wasteful shit? I can't imagine ANYONE thinking that a Blackberry will provide any benefit whatsoever when trying to quit smoking. |

Have you verified this. here is the whois lookup for that website,
http://whois.domaintools.com/safelinkwireless.com It shows TracPhone, which is NOT a government agency. Just because they say its a government sponcored program doesnt mean it IS a government sponcored program. |
Re: Don't think this is the era of handouts?
Wow...
The Blackberry for smokers thing is EFFING RIDICULOUS. I am a smoker, and there is not one good reason why I would use MY Blackberry that I bought with my own money to help me quit. As for the free phones for "low income" people. That reminds me of the old Cricket service from a few years back. Many thought the rumors behind it were false, but it was clear as day in the end user agreement. Google Cricket and phone tapping. ;) |

Re: Don't think this is the era of handouts?
The idea is ludicrous but tom does have a point, it could be a phishing site. God knows there are tons of those out there, feeding off the stupid. Note the 'buy airtime' link, why would you need to buy more if its supposed to be free....
