And by the way, When republicans want a fucking amendment so that people WHO SAVED AMERICANS LIVES, who arent citizens will be denied coverage under this act, that doesnt make them good politicians... THAT MAKES THEM ASSHOLES! These people are HEROS, regardless of their citizenship. I am glad that i saw this, because it reaffirmed my belief that ALL republican politicians are inhumane ASSHOLES.

See Tom, you're just listening to the left wing spin machine. The real issue was about how to fund the bill, not turning down the bill. Republicans said they want to know where the funds are coming from before they vote to pass it. Remember "PayGo" that Obama Inc signed into law, that has yet to be enforced ONCE since being signed.

Why has everybody seemed to have forgotten the same people who are ill carried state and government sponsored heath care along with full workers comp which will take care of them. So what's the additional money for?

So get your facts straight before you pop a blood vessel.

This bill is for 1st responders yes? How many Firemen and police do you really think are illegal?

Amendments are a part of our system and they keep power in check (loosely). Without amendments we would get nothing done in DC or our own states.

If the Democrats wanted this bill passed they wouldn't have made it need a 2/3 majority. The only reason they did is so they can make the Republicans look like the bad guy right before the elections.

Both parties are crooks and have forgotten who they work for.

92% of the people in this country are sheep, 3% rule us, 2% want to destroy us and the last 3% are waiting for the turning point.

Exactly. There are things in the bill they didn't want to debate on, that's another reason why they went the 2/3rds route.

They didnt want the republicans trying to put in an ammendment NOT allowing coverage for first responders that were illegal immegrants. It wasnt about that money as it should NOT be about the money when it comes to those who put their health at risk to save people from the rubble.
So your telling me, that you dont want a mosque on ground zero, because it would be unpatriotic, yet the heros that risked their lives to help the victims can go to hell with their illnesses because we cant pay for it. Do you realise how stupid you both sound?

I will ask you again Tom. How many of these 1st responders do you actually think are illegall? The goverment requires more paperwork and background checks then any other employer. If they used false identification papers to get hired then it is a federal offense and they should be arrested, serve their time, then be deported.

So let me get this straight, your democrats said to hell with the 99% of the hero's who need our help because they want to push for help for the maybe 1% that shouldn't be here in the 1st place?

And why are you bringing the Ground zero mosque into this? And where have I said I don't want that?

There is already a mosque with the same radical preacher 12 blocks from Ground zero which is pretty close already.

I think we should let them build a mosque and then build an even bigger Jewish temple right next door :D But that's getting off topic.

So Tom, again, why did the dems use the 2/3rds voting proceedure? You stated above that is was so the republicans couldn't insert an amendment to cover illegals??? Just want to make sure I understood you correctly. Sounds really fishy that the dems didn't want the republicans trying to add an amendment that WOULD HELP illegals!?!?!?!?! I sure would have thought the dems would love that idea since they are such humanitarians and always looking out for the poor little guy, regardless of race, religion, legal citizen or not???

All government first responders carry full health care coverage and workers comp. Anybody who was an innocent bystander who is ill now falls under the GREAT BIG OL' MULTI BILLION DOLLAR SETTLEMENT AND INSURANCE POLICY that Mr Silversteen had on the property for terrorist attacks. Or did you forget about that too?

It's been nine years now. Tom are you really trying to convince us that with all those New York lawyers that there are really any victims who are not getting taken care of??? Open yours eyes.

This whole issue is nothing more than political games being played by the dems. Why??? BECAUSE COME NOVEMBER THEIR GETTING THEIR CLOCKS CLEANED!!! THAT'S WHY!!!

Well look at it this way... If there isnt any in the first place, then why would the republicans even put that out there? Its for the slim chance that a HERO just happened to be an illegal immegrant. 9/11 was about more than just terrorists driving airplanes into the towers, it showed the world that when tradgedy strikes, we can come together as HUMANS and help out our fellow man. Volunteers were part of those first responders, people who traveled towards ground zero to help out any way they could. First responders covers all of the people that came out to help in any way they could.
So tell me, why does it matter what country a person is a citizen of, when they help save the lives of an american? Dont we want more people like this in our country? A lot of these people are getting denied claims by their insurance companies because they werent part of the paramedics, or firemen, or police officers, all they wanted to do is help, and yet our government cant simply give them medical attention because the republicans wanted to ammend this to make some heros, not heros at all based on their citizenship.
This bill could have easily passed! but the Democrats were in a hard position either way, Go for the majority vote and have it watered down and delayed even more, or stick it through as is, not watered down and hope the republicans get over the politics and pass some GOOD legislation. its a damn shame.

VICIOUS- The ammendment would make the bill NOT cover illegals. Learn the facts before you post.

Question for you guys:
The president (any U.S. President, doesnt even have to be obama) is having a strolll down the street, he is crossing the street and a car that wasnt paying attention is aimed right at him about to hit him when an on looking bystander pushes the president out of the way just in time, but gets hit by the car and is severely injured.
Is this man a Hero?

Come to find out that this person is actually not a citizen of the United States. Is this man now a Villain?

I was going by what you said and questioning it. So learn how to post what you mean so you won't get called out on it again.

Trust me, those lawyers are getting those people taken care of. As for illegal, not illegal, it's a tough call. If you aren't supposed to be here, but you are, and you get hurt, you kinda take your own chances if you get hurt. This reminds me of the guy who breaks into your house, trips over one of your kids toys, gets hurt and sues you, the home owner.

Actually, their not. Read up on it. Its highly interesting how these HEROs are being sued by insurance companies to pay for medical bills for respitory illnesses that they recieved in the line of duty, and are being denied claims left and right.
