Detailing day before the Mitsu Cookout on August 21st

Detailing day before the Mitsu Cookout
The day would focus on things that you may or may not have been made aware of. We would of course work on detailing cars this day however the focus on the day would be on the techniques to make everyones ride in tip top shape. Cover the basics, share skills about how to address different detailing issues (scratches, hazed headlights, swirls, chips etc.) detailing techiques (claying, engine cleanup, carpet cleaning. etc.). Will have different products on hand for people to try.
I also promise to show my technique for getting rid of the annoying caliper peeling issue.
Will be utilizing the lift for a complete wash down with pressure sprayer and detailing lower side skirts.
Come on out if you just wanna be social or have something you wanna just take a look at on your own car.
The location would be south of Hastings in a 40x60 shop. Pressure sprayers and car wash suppilies will be provided. Will be making brats again for anyone that is hungry. The event however will be BYOB.
Date will be Saturday August 21st starting @ 9:00 AM

So where is this? I might go if I am not too hung over despite not having my car...I want a ride in Lomker's car anyway :)

Hmmm...Hastings, so far from Blaine...I won't put me as a doubtful since I have no evo.

Have fun though guys, get those things shining.

As for detailing supplies, bring what you have, I do have a fair amount to get anyone started. If you have applicator pads and micro fiber towls, bring them. Any products you like to try, bring them. Any detailing tools, bring them as well. I have 2 pressure washers, 2 vacumn cleaners, and plenty of wax. If you have a claybar kits, wax whatever you prefer to use bring it you can comapre it to some of the stuff I use. :)

Also I will be supplying Brats, chips, and water. This will be a BYOB event, I will have a cooler with ice on the premisis.

I picked up some metal polish, not sure if it's any good. I could use some advice on how to tackle the engine bay...I've never bothered with previous cars.

Trev, Heck yeah! bikes need love too...

mlomker, metal polish is a good idea, engine bays are not so bad to detail, but I know you have alot of bling to shine!

There's still factory gunk in there, too. Not sure if it's safe to hose shit down with wheel cleaner or something like that or not. Anywho, that's what I'll spend some time on tomorrow.

I'd love to come detail my car, but I no longer have a mitsu to polish up for the cookout, haha.

Big thanks to Shawn and his father for having us out today! It was very productive for me. I got my front o2 sensor replaced and the engine bay cleaned up pretty nice.

I took Shawn for a spin and blew a LICP coupler. It couldn't have happened at a better place--a couple minutes on the lift and we had it fixed up. We headed back out and gave it another test. :D

I bought some neat spray-on wax from Shawn's dad (Bulldog?). I need to find some of the metal polish that Shawn has...I think he said he gets it at the State Fair.
