Why so pokey?
Hey guys I've been having slowness problems with my car since I got it. The car is an auto awd. The problem is if I'm at a dead stop and floor it, it takes about 3-4 seconds before it really starts going to town. Anybody have any info on what I could do to help fix it? Just ask if you want/need more info to diagnose this problem.

Re: Why so pokey?
this is an automatic correct? are you using the stock maf setup? im also assuming a stock turbo?
make sure the wastegate arm is connected to the flapper, if it is, make sure the flapper with move freely when disconnected. check the line coming from the wastegate, and follow it all the way back to the boost source. make sure you dont have any leaks. also try connecting the wastegate hose directly to a boost source to bypass any boost controller. a boost leak test would be a good idea as well if its been a while. could have a few small holes bleeding off boost. if none of this seems to help anything, you might want to start looking for exhaust leaks |
Re: Why so pokey?
Hey here is a link to a vid of my car doing 0-60 from a dead stop. Check it out.

Re: Why so pokey?
is your car tuned? Is it running rich at the start?

Re: Why so pokey?
The guy told me he had it tuned, and not too touch anything because it was tuned for this setup, so I'm assuming it is

Re: Why so pokey?
Well i don't want to put it in if it's going to blow. and build up the tranny? i mean i kinda understand that meaning make it stronger... but normally when you step on it in a car auto or man power should be there no matter what, my other talon was stock and it was faster than this one off the line

Re: Why so pokey?
maf-t isnt very good for actual tuning unfortunately. but there are a few things you could do to help with launches, but you would have to talk to the automatic guys.

like?

Re: Why so pokey?
if your other car was a stock automatic, the 13b will spool faster than the 14b, that would account for the little bit a lag your getting between 2-3k rpm
|
Re: Why so pokey?
a higher rpm torque converter would help build boost for launching

Re: Why so pokey?
Shift kit, High stall convertor. Mainly what i mean by building up the tranny is adding a trans cooler and keeping the fluid clean by changing it. I just threw it on there and put the pressure to the hardest (which was most likely why it blew).
